Yes!!!Today is Pentecost and this day is often called the “the birthday of the Church." On this day, with the descent of the Holy Spirit, Christ's mission is completed, and the New Covenant is inaugurated. The Acts of the Apostles recounts the story of the original Pentecost as we can read in the Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament chapter 2: The Jews from all over were gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the Jewish feast. On that Sunday, ten days after the Ascension of Our Lord, the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary were gathered in the Upper Room, where they had seen Christ after His Resurrection; and suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a mighty wind coming, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them parted tongues as if it were of fire, and it sat upon every one of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak with diverse tongues, accordingly, as the Holy Spirit gave them to speak. © J.S. Paluch Co., Inc. We all have received the Holy Spirit as well, we have been confirmed and have received the call to spread the Good News around the world. We are not alone and never will be; and never will be too late to let the Gifts of the Holy Spirit grow in our hearts. So let’s keep acting with hope, faith and charity. We also give thanks to God for all our children in the CCD program who received communion for the first time. They start a special friendship with Jesus. It is our responsibility to pray for them and for their families. May the Holy Spirit be their light and strength in their lives! Congratulations to all! I want to let you know that the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is coming… so in the following weeks we will let you know about our Feast and all the details. I hope you save the times and dates to celebrate with us this special occasion for us as a community consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Peace to all Fr. Francisco Ortega, Administrator Come and Be Healed Experience the healing power of God through the Eucharistic celebration You are cordially invited to join a Healing Mass and experience the healing power of the Holy Spirit on Saturday, May 30 from 2-4pm at Sacred Heart. Paz y bien Fr.
