Quilting Fundamentals
Bailey’s Quilt
Here’s a great
way to learn all
about quilt
making! This
simple yet
striking quilt
will look great
in any combination of fabrics you
choose. You’ll
start right at
the beginning learning rotary cutting,
accurate seaming, block construction,
quilt assembly, and settings and borders. At the end of class, you’ll have your
quilt top done and ready for quilting. Requires pattern. Instructor: Ro, $99,
Wednesdays January 7, 14, 21 and February 4, 6:30-9:30 (Note: January 14 is
6:30-8:30)
Machine Quilting I
Your quilt
top is finally
pieced and
your pattern
ends with
those three
scary words
“quilt as
desired”.
Now what? Take a deep breath, drop
those feed dogs and start machine quilting! In this class, you’ll learn to freemotion quilt some basic designs including curved lines, meandering, echoing,
and loops. We’ll also discuss needles,
threads, batting and tension. Instructor:

Find out if
quilting is
for you by
taking our
two sessions, no
commitment
class!
Choose your
fabrics
ahead of
time, then come to class ready to sew
your already-cut by us quilt. The pattern
is our “Easy Up to the Bar” design. You’ll
be piecing the bars and adding borders,
then doing the quickest finishing ever.
Go home after the second session with
your very own quilt. Instructor: Ro, $82,
Sunday January 11 AND February 1,
4:30-8:30
No Guilt Quilt
This is a
“No Guilt
Quilt”!!!
All you
need to
make
the
blocks
for this
quilt is
one jelly roll and 1 1/2 yards of background fabric. Very little fabric remains.
There is no waste. It is a very traditional
quilt, but the scrappiness makes it
uniquely yours. This quilt is simple,
scrappy and stunning. The piano key
border perfectly compliments the diversity of the fabric in the quilt blocks. This
is an advanced beginner class. Instructor: Kim N., $54, Monday, January 12,
19, AND February 2, 10-12

Private Class
For times when a regularly scheduled
class just won’t do, we offer private
classes to fill the void. Let’s say that a
class you're interested in requires rotary skills, and you’re still snipping along
with scissors. Well a 1-hour private
class will bring you up to speed. Or say
that you really want to get the hang of
paper-piecing or some other skill. Or
maybe our classes just don’t fit in your
schedule. Talk to any one of us and
we’ll find you the right person at the
right time to teach you what you need
to know. $25 per hour per person.
Policy for class registration
You must pay for a class in full in order
to receive the class supplies list and to
reserve your place. You may register
by phone, on line, or in the store. If you
need to cancel, please do so at least
10 days prior to the first class in order
to receive a full refund. If an emergency arises and you cancel less than 10
days before the first class, but at least
one day before, a class certificate will
be issued. Please use this for emergencies only as late cancellations can be
problems for us. All books and patterns
and some special tools required for a
class can be purchased at a 20% discount after paid registration. Check
that class enrollment minimums have
been met before purchasing supplies.

New Class! OH-HI-O My Stars : Techniques Building Series
Have you started setting your quilting goals
for 2015? Are any of them to gain new,
refresh or sharpen your quilt piecing skills?
Consider Michelle’s Technique Building
Series (TBS), where you will walk away with
improved and honed cutting and piecing
techniques. She has kept to the basic
units with this TBS, however it’s definitely
going to challenge you in a few areas; such
as cutting and piecing for five patches.
Whether you are a beginner or advanced
quilter, jump in with no reservations and
have fun with it. For you beginners, there
may be some real easy units, and then
some real hard ones, but just give them a
try! If you are an advanced quilter, take a little refresher on these techniques and
sharpen your skills. Each Workshop is 3 hours. The TBS will have 9 blocks.
You may elect to take one technique class, take a few, or take them all. Each
month, at class, you will be provided a colored worksheet with cutting and piecing
instructions for the featured block, which is free to students taking the class but
will be offered for $8 per block worksheet to those unable to take the class. Each
month, along with the picture of the quilt, we will reveal the current and following
month’s block in our newsletter and online. You can sign up for one workshop at
a time; however seats are limited and it is on a first come, first served basis. No
need to take all the classes, you may elect to make a wall hanging, baby quilt, bed
runner, you decide. All 9 blocks are required for quilt pictured. Alternate settings
available as well.
Classes require Studio 180 Design’s Tucker Trimmer, Wing Clipper and Square 2
Tools.
Instructor: Michelle, $36 per class, Sundays, 12-3, March 29, April 26, May 31,
June 21, September 27, October 25, November 22
