Have you seen numbered patterns in books and magazines, and wondered how to use them? Have you seen perfect patchwork and wondered how to get those results? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this is the class for you. Learn how to machine paper piece blocks quickly and easily by working on a simple heart block to learn the process, and then proceeding to a lovely mariner’s compass. December 24, 2014 Page 1 Leslie Building Beyond: Sun-Kissed Leslie $140 (Book Purchase Required) Roses Saturday March 7; and Sundays, March 15, April 26, and May 31 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. “Sun-Kissed Roses” pairs two blocks, ‘Nine Patch’ and ‘Elongated Rail Fence’, to create a sashing that is perfect for using with those gorgeous large-scale prints you can hardly bear to cut up. The pieced sashing is used to frame larger plain blocks in a dynamic diagonal setting. An easy quilt to stitch up—but, you will also learn how to construct multiple mitred and scalloped borders, and bias binding. Open Sewing Sessions Appliqué Quilt Alongs Kim $20 Fridays January 30, February 20, March 13, April 17, May 29, June 26 5:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. These open workshops allow students to bring in any appliqué project, and receive instruction/guidance to bring about successful completion. In a group or on an individual basis, a review of the appliqué process, finishing options, and embellishment opportunities will be provided. This inquiry-based setting is guided by the attendees’ requirements so each class offers opportunities to learn and practice different techniques with everyone working at their own pace. While attendees may work on projects* other than applique, assistance and instruction is given on a priority basis to those who are working on applique projects. *See Policies and Information. What to Bring For our classes you will require your own sewing machine - which should be in good working order - and your own sewing supplies and tools. In our classroom we have ironing boards and irons which are shared with other students. A supply list will be available for your class which will outline the supplies, fabric requirements, and any pre-cutting needed. Please ensure you pick this supply list up in plenty of time to prepare for your first class. December 24, 2014 Page 5 Policies & Information Class Registration/Cancellation Policy • Participants may register for classes by paying for the class in full either at the store or via telephone with appropriate credit card information (Visa or MasterCard). All classes at Along Came Quilting require adequate registration numbers in order to run. If a class has inadequate registration numbers, the store will notify participants seven (7) days prior to the day of the scheduled class. • If Along Came Quilting cancels a class, participants will receive a refund by gift certificate or cash. There are no refunds via credit or debit card. • If, for any reason, a participant cannot participate in a class for which s/he has registered, a refund will be issued providing notice is given to Along Came Quilting seven (7) days prior to the first class. Participants will receive a refund by gift certificate or cash. If less than seven (7) days notice is provided, a refund will be issued only if the spot can be filled by another participant, and the refund will only be made by gift certificate. There are no refunds via credit or debit card. • Partial refunds and/or free make-up classes are not provided. • Participants are asked to confirm with the store that the class has met the minimum participation requirements prior to purchasing books, patterns, supplies and/or fabrics. In fairness to all staff and our teachers, we would also appreciate that you not teach any of our classes to your friends in an Open Sewing Session. • Participants can register for Open Sewing Sessions by paying in full either at the store or via telephone with appropriate credit card information (Visa or MasterCard). • Cancellation by Along Came Quilting: All Open Sewing Sessions at Along Came Quilting require adequate registration numbers in order to run. Please feel free to send a friend in your place. • 2-Day Notification: Two-day notifications apply as follows: Monday Sessions—notification must be made by Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Friday Sessions—notification must be made by Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Saturday Sessions—notification must be made by Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Sunday Sessions—notification must be made by Friday at 3:00 p.m. • Transfer Credits: If a customer calls to cancel an Open Sewing Session, a transfer credit can be provided by Along Came Quilting within the policies noted above, and will be noted in the registration binder at the customer’s request. Transfer credits can be used for an Open Sewing Session when the customer registers for another date. A transfer to another date can be made only once by the customer—you cannot keep transferring them forward. If ACQ cancels an Open Sewing Session, any transfer credits can be forwarded. All transfer credits expire one (1) year from the date of the Open Sewing session. Once a transfer credit, always a transfer credit—they cannot be changed into refunds or used as a store credit in any other way.
