Epiphany of the Lord
January 4, 2015
Theme: “The magi set out because of a deep desire which prompted them to leave everything and begin a

(Pope Benedict XVI)
If you are searching for God in your life, you need not travel far like the magi did to find Him. He is as close

The Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ is one of the oldest Christian
feasts, though, throughout the centuries, it
has celebrated a variety of things. Epiphany
comes from a Greek verb meaning "to reveal," and all of the various events celebrated by the Feast of the Epiphany are
revelations of Christ to man.
Thank you for your many warm wishes
for the Christmas season. We wish
you all God’s many graces throughout
2015!

The first reading today recalls God’s special
blessing upon the Israelites. The Lord has been
gracious to us as well, pouring into our hearts
that spirit which knows Him as Father and
makes us His children. May we, like Mary,
treasure these things in our hearts and live gratefully!
Archdiocesan Annual Appeal
Contributions-to-date: $25,482.00 from 192 contributors. This represents 98% of our target of
$26,049.00 from 39% of our parishioners.
Thank you for your generosity!
Your contribution, regardless of size, will ensue
that the mission of Christ will continue, and that the
Church of Christ will grow to touch the lives of others,
making the peace and grace of Christ known throughout
the Archdiocese of Regina.
PRAYER MINISTRY
Please pray for the needs of the sick of our parish, the
homebound, those in nursing homes and those
who care for them, especially:
Fr. Bill
Mahoney, Fr. Art Vandendriessche, Andrew
Helmeczi, Phylis Fahlman, Hans Reisinger,
Anton Fahlman,
Mary Kish, Kathleen
Wingerter, Thomas Periyilkatte, Fr. Marcel
George and Louise Wingerter. Please remember the
repose of Emilie Kral. Please, also, keep in your prayers
all who are grieving the death of a loved one.
Vocation View
God’s glory continues to shine in our world. Where do
you need to carry the light of Christ? Consider being a
light for the world as a Church minister. (Isaiah 60:1-6)
2014 Collection Envelopes
Food Drive
Donations of food will be collected the weekend of January 10th & 11th for families in our
parish. At the present time four families are
recipients. All contributions are welcome.
Thank you for sharing your treasure with those
around you.
Food Drive Program
The Social Justice Committee is planning to make some
changes to our Food Drive Program. At this time, the families who are presently receiving food are doing well on
their own. It is time to evaluate what we are doing and perhaps look at other options for the dispersal of food and
other items. Everything will remain the same for January
and February. More information will be in future bulletins
as our plans take shape. We do thank all of you who have
participated in this program which is helping those in need.
Your 2014 collection envelopes are no longer valid.
Please recycle any you may have left and
begin using your 2015 envelopes. If you
have not yet picked your 2015 envelopes
up, they are available at the back of the
church. If you wish to have envelopes
for 2015 you may request them by completing the sheet
at the back of the church.
Thank you to all the knitters who so generously donated items for our Advent
Knitting Tree this year. Everything was
delivered on December 17th. Those who
received these beautiful handmade mittens, toques, scarves
and other warm winter clothing were excited
and thankful when we arrived a their door
with such wonderful gifts. We would also
like to thank the “KnitWits” at College Park. They meet
every Tuesday afternoon and this year donated 118 items
for our Advent Knitting Tree.
Thank you to all who came out to decorate
our worship space in 2014. You have provided a very welcoming environment for
special occasions to both our parishioners
and visitors alike. We appreciate the time you took out of
your very busy lives to come together for this purpose.
God bless!

classes at all elementary schools. Any child
who will be five years old by December 31,
2015 is eligible. We’d love to see you! You

Today, may there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are
meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that
has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let his
knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise
and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
