Pasteur/Rockefeller Platform
Management System
The PPMS system is a web-based application for the management of
technology-related shared core facilities (platforms). It is developed by
Pasteur Institute and Rockefeller University. Its features and functionalities
arose directly from the ideas, the experience, the habits and the feedback
of the staff and users of the PFID platform in the Pasteur Institute and of
the BIRC facility of the Rockefeller University.

You can either find your user name in
the drop down list box (1) or type it in
by yourself (2)
Your user name will be the username
portion of the e-mail account you
register. Please try to use your
umaryland e-mail for registration
e.g. [email protected]

Your password will be the same as your
scope login. Users from the same
research group will be assigned the
same password.
CIF password (Xxxx@nnnn)
is consisted of the first four letter of the
PI’s last name, the first letter is in upper
case.
nnnn is the four digit CIF account
number
After log in, you will see system booking page, only the scopes
you are authorized are listed in your booking page
You could use this page to report any problem of the scope, or call
CIF staff
Any problem of the scope will be listed here. CIF will also
block off scope time in the calendar to let user know the
scope is not available
You can set up here so your scope reservation is shown in
your own calendar
You can modify your profile if you choose to list your phone
number

Do not reserve more time than you need. You will be charged at least ½ of your
reserved time even if you do not use the scope
Reservation can be cancelled free of charge 12 hours before scope time. You can still
cancel your reservation less than 12 hours before reserved time, but you will be
charged at least at a 50% rate for the full amount of time you reserved
To avoid penalty charges, you can try to contact other active scope users to see if
anyone will take up your reservation. Click on the “view/edit” link to access user
information and user comment.
Purple reservation means the user has left some comment that you can read by
clicking on the view link. This option is reserved for specifying the laser (s)that will be
used during the scope session for confocal microscopes reservation.
Green reservation indicate that user may cancel 12 hours before the reservation, if
you have urgent need to access the scope, you may find the user contact info by
clicking the “view” link and contact the user directly. If you swap your reservation
with another user, please inform the CIF staff.
Blue reservation
