ASD SUMMER CAMP – ST. MARY IMMACULATE
We will be hosting, in partnership with Autism Ontario, a summer camp for students in our Board
presently in JK to grade 2 diagnosed with ASD. The program can accommodate a total of 15 students
with parent or guardian participation in the program.
The camp will focus on three areas:
1.
Transitioning back to school at the end of the summer
2.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
3.
Social skills development
The camp will be offered at:
St. Mary Immaculate
161 Regent Street
Richmond Hill, ON
August 11 to August 22, 2014
9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Each class will be run by a certified teacher with the assistance from CYW apprenticeship students.
Please forward parent letter and registration forms to inform appropriate families in your school of this
opportunity. Completed registrations can be forwarded to Angie Cabraja at the CEC, by May 9th,
2014. If parents receive the Items of Interest Newsletter from Autism Ontario and have registered with
them, they need not register again. All registrations will be processed on a first come basis.

PARENT INFORMATION FOR TRANSITION TO SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAM
We will be hosting, in partnership with Autism Ontario, a summer camp for students diagnosed
with ASD, attending York Catholic District School Board and presently in JK to grade 2. The
camp can accommodate a total of 15 students with parent or caregiver participation in the
program.
The camp will focus on three areas:
1 transitioning back to school at the end of the summer
2. basic literacy, including the use of the book I Have Autism and numeracy skills
3. social skills development
Location: St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Elementary School

Dates:
Monday to Friday on August 11 to 22 - 9 a.m. to 12:00 daily.
Each class will be run by a certified teacher and we are hoping to have assistance from adult
students currently working on obtaining their CYW designation.
Completed registrations can be returned to your school and forwarded to the Catholic Education
Centre in care of: Mrs. A. Cabraja by May 9th, 2014. If you receive the Items of Interest
Newsletter from Autism Ontario, and have already registered through Autism Ontario, you need
not complete a second registration form. All registrations will be processed on a first come
basis.
