Our broadcast service area is partly suburban and partly agricultural-based economy, so we program for both a farm and a non-farm audience. Our employees need to be diverse in their working knowledge of the area, and we seek individuals that will give us the best opportunity to provide information and to serve our listening area. Our recruiting efforts are built to recruit widely throughout our community. We do not have occasion to fill full time vacancies every year. However, our most recent full time hire occurred in December 2013. We have used and are prepared to use job vacancy recruitment sources which are well-known to job seekers in our area: • KOWZ-FM, KKOR, KRUE broadcasts • Newspaper • Local College Campuses • Minnesota Workforce Center • Minnesota Broadcasters Association Job Board Our established 3 radio station cluster broadcasts quality entertainment and informational programming including local news, weather and items of regional significance. Our station formats and broadcast area serve a sizable area and many listeners. We find that job vacancy notices broadcast on our stations reach many people in our broadcast area. The Owatonna Peoples Press is a local newspaper which is widely distributed and read throughout Steele County, Minnesota, where we are located, and beyond. It has been a successful recruitment source. To advertise on local college campuses, we use the Minnesota State University- Mankato Campus Job Board every time that we have an opening and have interviewed many applicants from there. In addition, we have added Riverland Community College to our list of recruitment sources. These nearby colleges enroll a large number of local residents. The Minnesota Workforce Center is a state-sponsored job service with a regional office in our community. It is a widely-used source for people to find out about many types of job openings. The Minnesota Broadcasters Association Job Board is used by people who are specifically looking for work in the broadcast industry. This recruitment source has been successful for recruiting applicants from all corners of the State of Minnesota.
