INTRODUCING OURSELVES
OUR PROFILE : INTRODUCING OURSELVES
DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology Jalandhar got established in
year 2001 under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee. The
institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Punjab Technical
University, Jalandhar. This is the first degree level Engineering Institute
started by the DAV College Trust and Management Society. The DAV
College Trust and Management Society is the largest non-government
educational organization in India managing a chain of 700 institutions in
India and abroad. The institute is located in the heart of city on a prime
piece of land adjacent to DAV College, Jalandhar on the left side of
Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway spread over an area measuring
about 18 acres possessing extremely beautiful landscape with a running
canal on its back and historical Burlton Park on its front. DAVIET is
carrying out original research of significance and technology
development at the cutting edge. It imparts training to students to make
them competent, motivated engineers and scientists. The Institute not
only celebrates freedom of thought, cultivates vision and encourages
growth, but also inculcates human values and concern for the
environment and the society.
Engineering, Technology and Sciences roll on the wheels of Mathematics.
Computational Techniques are a full-blown tool used in all sciences and
Validation of engineering concepts can be ascertained only by the
disciplines. Applied Mathematics concerns with mathematical methods
application of Mathematical principles. Constant collaborations of
that are used in science, engineering, business, medicine and industry. In
Mathematicians and researchers from science and engineering will bring to
the changing world, Numerical methods and computational techniques
focus the recent advancements in the ambit of Mathematics. Hence it has
provide the methodology and framework of rigorous thoughts for
become now imperative for researchers, educators, students, scientists,
engineers and industrialists to communicate and discuss research
developments by exchanging their ideas.
Engineering problems require knowledge of various numerical techniques
and computational skills for their solution and analysis. Researchers are
familiar with the required techniques that are commonly used in their fields
and specific to the kind of problems of their discipline. In this course it is
planned to bring experts from different fields of expertise to one platform and
share their expertise regarding the feasibility of their solution and numerical
techniques with case studies. Emphasizing this, a faculty development
programme of like-minds who are engaged in teaching/research in
mathematics and engineering and R & D in industry is planned and proposed
by DAV Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. This knowledge based brain
storming sessions will include plenary addresses and regular presentations.
The faculty development programme is of interest to practice-based
scholars, mathematics educators, mathematics researchers, engineering
education researchers, academicians and those who are involved in
innovative mathematics teaching initiatives and for faculty development.
Experienced colleagues and budding educators in the field are also

AIMS OF THE FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME-cum-WORKSHOP
Facilitate interaction between researchers working in the fields of
development and applications of numerical and computational techniques.
OUR VISION
We perceive to be globally acclaimed centre of excellence in technical
education & research; catalyzing innovation and best academic practices
resulting in enhanced quality for all our stakeholders.
developments in Science and Technology. The aim of the faculty
development programme is to stimulate collaboration between active
researchers, educators, mathematicians and engineers representing
education institutions and engineering related organizations. The faculty
development programme will provide an opportunity to present and
observe the latest researches, results and ideas in the areas of numerical
and computational techniques.
