Welcomed & members introduced themselves. Reviewed
agenda. Roles & responsibilities of team members discussed. A
brief history & explanation of the need to initiate this Council of
experts for this service line. Greatly appreciate everyone’s input
& interest. Any other clinicians that need to be on this Council,
please let Karen know.
Power point presentation (see attachments). Supply Chain also is
the starting point for any capital equipment requests. IUH does
have some preferred vendors & contracts need to be reviewed to
safeguard any negative impact. This Council will review any
requests for equipment &/or disposables before initiating the
process.
Laryngoscope-gave background information on this project. Goal
to decrease #of vendors to 3 from the 6 that IUH uses. Each IUH
facility will make decision on going entirely disposable(handle &
blade) or mixture of reusable handle w/disposable blades. Need
for cost analysis voiced, & due to delay in getting data & priority
to start trialing, SCO initiated trials. Continuing to work on cost
analysis.
Resuscitator bags- Respiratory Council selected 2 vendors out of
6 to move forward on trialing. Selection criteria was based on
ACTION/OUTCOME/FOLLOW-UP

Tri-anim VentLab & Medline.
Epidural Pumps-brief explanation/history given. Requestors
OB/Pain Service clinicians. Pharmacy involved & progressing
through epidural drip standardization. Vendor chosen Smiths
Medical CADD pump.
