In this information age a holistic curriculum is no longer a luxury but a necessity. By building language skills, developing
self-confidence, and providing cross-curricular and real world material, the students are better prepared for their continued
education and adult life. This session will suggest some fun and exciting ways we can incorporate these concepts into our classes.

Planning is very time-consuming; we need to cater for the different learner types, their needs, their learning strategies and their
learning times. We need to create the appropriate learning environment for each learner within the group while the system wants
us to prepare 8 to 11 year-olds for exams. In this workshop, we will try to explore alternatives to practise for the different exam
tasks in the classroom context and respecting each child’s pace and needs in a collaborative environment in the 21st century.
