Term 4 Week 6 2014 2 Spain Five million people live the city of Barcelona. Noah Our artwork is based on the view at Park Guell in Barcelona. Park Guell was designed by by Antoni Gaudi. Lilianne Brae The park was built between 1900 and 1914, it was officially opened in 1926. Nes We made our artwork from coloured paper and paint. We used red, yellow and orange paint for the sunset. We used coloured paper cut into little squares to make the mosaic fence in the park. Corey and Summer We are learning about the city Barcelona because it is interesting and fun. We use Barcelona as one of our reading group names in our classroom. Old School meets New School morning tea Last Thursday 6th November, our school leaders were invited to a morning tea to meet some of our older community residents and talk about what their school life was like. Students introduced themselves and chatted at the table with residents from Coastal Waters. Once students and residents felt comfortable with one another, the students recorded interviews that will be edited and aired on Community Radio 92.7FM this Friday 2-3 pm. I noted that the students found out some very interesting stories that raised a few eyebrows when they thought about it. Students were keen to do it again and it was all smiles when we said our goodbyes. The residents commented on what lovely young people the school has and they thoroughly enjoyed their time with them. This morning tea came together through Bay & Basin Community Resources Inc. and TAFE students completing their Community Leadership course. Thank you for inviting our school to take part in this special occasion. Fund raiser Regina from Southern Youth and Family Services came to our school to receive a cheque for $435.00, which we raised earlier in the year from our sleepout.
