Player Invitation

It is our great pleasure to announce that you have been selected to attend the 2014 Major
League Baseball European Elite Camp. The Elite Camp will take place this summer at the
Italian Olympic Training Center in Tirrenia, Italy from July 30 – August 13.
In May, Major League Baseball and MLB Scouting Bureau staff evaluated over 250 players at
try-out sessions around Europe. From this large pool of players we have selected 50 young
men to attend the Elite Camp. You should take great pride in having been included in such
an exclusive group.
Attending the Elite Camp will offer you a unique opportunity to develop your baseball
abilities by training with the best players under the watchful eye of the best Major League
instructors. You will also have the chance to be evaluated by professional scouts from the
MLB Scouting Bureau and the many MLB clubs who send representatives to the Elite Camp.
Our goal is to provide you with the best baseball experience of your life and help you
develop into the best player you can be, whether with your club, your national team or even
as a professional player.
If you accept this invitation to attend the Elite Camp, Major League Baseball will provide you
with the following:

Accommodation and three meals per day while in residence at the Elite Camp.
All playing and instructional costs associated with the Elite Camp.
All playing equipment, excluding fielding gloves, catchers gear and protective
undergarments.
All practice apparel and uniforms.
A world-class instructional program led by Major League coaches, including Barry
Larkin, Tom Gordon and Steve Finley.
A Major League advanced-level strength and conditioning program.
A comprehensive support program, including seminars in conditioning, health and
nutrition.
Access to sports medicine facilities and care.
Exposure to Major League Baseball scouts.
Individualized evaluation and a personalized year-round training program.
As a player at the Elite Camp, you will be responsible for your own transportation to and
from Pisa, any personal baseball items (such as gloves, catchers gear and protective
undergarments), and any extra costs outside of the normal Elite Camp program, including
personal travel, phone calls, entertainment and meals outside of the training center.

Whilst the Elite Camp is an exceptional opportunity, we do realize that this will require a
large commitment from you. As such, we ask that you consider all aspects of your situation
this summer and then inform us of your intentions as soon as possible.
If you do accept this invitation, please complete the attached forms and return them to us
by Friday, June 13:

3. Player Information Form
You can return the forms to us by email, fax or post (all details are listed below). After June
13, we will officially publish the final Elite Camp roster to you, your federation, and the
media.
If you cannot accept our invitation to the Elite Camp for whatever reason, please contact us
immediately to inform us of your decision. It is essential that you contact us before June 13
so that we may inform other players on the reserves list to take your place at the Elite Camp.
