Motion for Amendments
The next Presidents & Secretaries meeting will be scheduled for Wednesday 5th November
2014 commencing at 6:30 PM.

Motion for amendments
An agenda will be sent to all clubs 7 Days prior to the meeting. If clubs wish to include any
motion for amendments, clubs are asked to submit these via email
[email protected] by Friday 24 October 2014.

Umpiring Appointments - ATTACHMENT
All Umpire appointments will now be available via WebRef for the 2014/2015 VSBL season
which can be accessed via the VSBL website under COMPETITIONS/ UMPIRE
APPOINTMENTS.
Clubs secretaries will be receiving an email which looks similar to the attached which ask for
you to provide usernames and password. Once setup, you will be able to view all
appointments for the upcoming round of the season.

Rule Clarification BLANKS (All competitions excluding Masters)
A reminder regarding “Blanks” as per Rule 8, late start early forfeits.
In the situation a team has 7 or 8 players; the rule doesn’t necessitate the blank or blanks
and therefore the team can bat through the order without an automatic out being recorded.
Additional, there is no provision for the use of courtesy fielders for teams who only have 7
or 8 players available.
OFFENSIVE SCENARIO
A team has 7 OR players at the start of the game. Those players will bat through the order
without an out being recorded.
DEFENSIVE SCENARIO
A team has 7 or 8 players, those player are only permitted to take the field with not
courtesy fields available.

Five Minute Rule- Playing Condition 17
If in the situation the home team is behind however is unable to win the game due to the Five(5)
run of seven (7) run rule, the inning shall continue until complete.
Even though the game has already been won, the final results will have an effect on the
determining Ladder and Play-off Positions.
SCENARIO
Home team is behind 8 – 0 in the final inning and the five minute rule is in effect. If the Home
team scores 5 runs, the score will become 8 – 5 instead of 8 – 0.

Five Run Rule (Little League and Junior League only)
A reminder that for the Little League and Junior League competitions, scoring the fifth (5th) run
will end the innings – as per rule 38 a)

Batting line up (Little and Junior League Competitions only)
The extended line-up is not permitted to be used in any of these competitions. Teams shall only
bat nine (9) players in the batting line –up.

Women’s Midweek games Speed up Rule
Provisions for a speed up rule for scheduled Midweek games are not permitted at any stage.
Therefore the Pitcher and catcher must run for themselves.
