RURAL DEVELOPMENT
The discipline of Rural Development is of vital significance of understanding the
development issues related to rural society. The syllabus is designed to include such
diverse academic contents as are essential in the making of this discipline in the Indian
Context. An essential component of this programme is dissertation based on empirical
research in rural areas. The programme will be useful to personnel working in various
Govt. Department/agencies, NGO’s, Cooperatives, Banks and other institutions engaged
in rural transformation. It will also be beneficial for fresh graduates interested in pursuing
career in the discipline of rural development.

Duration: This MARD Program is of Two-year duration. However, in any case you are unable
to complete the programme in two year; you can complete the same within a maximum period of
Five-Years.
Admission Session
The admission in MARD is taken only in July and January session
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Graduate from a recognized University.
Documents Required (during Admission)
1. Transcript and Pass Certificate of Bachelor Level, +2 or its equivalent and class 10 – 2
copies each
2. 4 PP size and 2 Auto size Photographs
3. Xerox copy of valid passport / citizenship or driving licence (2 copies of any one)
Academic Counseling Sessions:
Besides compulsory courses academic counseling sessions for the following subjects will also be
provided.
