Video “Trittsicher durchs Leben” (OFRA: The osteoporotic fracture prevention program in rural areas) RBMF (Robert Bosch Institute for Medical Research), Stuttgart “Trittsicher durchs Leben” wants to evaluate a health care fund driven programme to reduce osteoporotic fractures in older people living in rural areas. “Trittsicher durchs Leben” contains 3 components: “Trittsicher”-mobility and fall prevention courses Examination of bone health Safety in the living environment The programme “Trittsicher durchs Leben” is in charge of a health care fund (Sozialversicherung für Landwirtschaft, Forsten und Gartenbau). Cooperation partners are a volunteer organisation of women living mainly in rural areas (Deutscher LandFrauenverband e. V.) and the German Gymnastics Association (Deutscher Turner-Bund). The LandFrauenverband and the Deutsche Turnerbund are responsible for the installation of „Trittsicher“mobility and fall prevention courses in rural areas. The LandFrauen organise the courses, the trainers are physiotherapists or exercise instructors from the DTB. The physiotherapists and exercise instructors get an oneday introduction in the „Trittsicher“-mobility and fall prevention programme. Contents of these courses are shown in the video.
