Mali / IDPs Bamako / Some 203,000 persons are internally displaced from northern Mali,
including 47,000 who have found refugee in the capital Bamako such as this woman and her
daughters. The majority of displaced persons in Bamako originate from the Timbuktu and
Gao regions. Most of them stay with host families or have rented small houses, and struggle

hours earlier, in Lebanon on 17 February 2014. Thousands of Syrians have crossed the
border into Lebanon in recent days after regime forces began to attack the town of Yabrud.
UNHCR registered over 800 families on Monday alone and has been disributing aid to
