All providers wishing to formally participate in PPS networks must connect to these networks by then. This is the last opportunity for the next five years to join a PPS network. DOH is strongly urging all providers who have not joined a PPS to do so within your area. A list of PPSs can be found on the DSRIP webpage. Additionally, KPMG has been contracted by DOH to operate regional DSRIP Support Teams, and these teams are available to help providers connect to PPSs in their area. Home and Community Based Services Designation: Applications are Being Accepted As reported recently in the NYSRA News, New York State has released its application for providers to receive a HCBS designation which will allow agencies to provide HCBS within the State's public behavioral health system. All NYC based providers must apply for the designation by December 5, 2014. Applications for all other areas will be due at a later date that has not been specified as yet. Workers with Developmental Disabilities Tax Credit – Deadline Removed for Applications To make it easier to take advantage of a new tax credit for hiring people with developmental disabilities, the state has scrapped the Nov. 30 deadline for the initial application. Instead, all businesses with active unemployment insurance accounts as of that date will be eligible to apply for the Workers with Developmental Disabilities Tax Credit Program which takes effect Jan 1, 2015. Employers must submit a request for certification application to the state DOL. The tax credit program provides up to $5,000 for hiring someone fulltime (30 or more hours per week) and up to $2,500 for part-time (at least eight hours per week) employment. The duration has to be at least six months. The non-refundable credit is 15% of wages and 10% for part-timers. For more information visit DOL's website. Anderson Center for Autism Receives Award NYSRA is pleased to share that its valued member, Anderson Center for Autism located in the Mid-Hudson region of Staatsburg, New York recently received Dutchess County Economic Development Corp's grand award in this year's Business Excellence Awards. Anderson Center for Autism offers day and residential programs for children and adults who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum. The award recognizes the growth of the organization in terms of service expansion and employment opportunities. Cuomo Administration Seeks New Medicaid Inspector General The State's Medicaid Inspector General, James Cox will join a number of firstterm Cuomo appointees who are departing the administration. The state is currently recruiting for the position. In the interim, first deputy Medicaid Inspector general, Tom Meyer will service as the Acting Medicaid Inspector General. Read More. Page 1 of 1
