Leah Serna is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist who graduated from the
Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN). She has been a full-time student of health and wellness
for the past twenty years and has experience with herbal remedies, life coaching, and cancer care. Leah
has a strong understanding of the connection between mind and body and has done extensive research
on how emotions can affect the health of body systems and lead to dis-ease. It is with this knowledge
that Leah moves forward with TLC, sharing her vision with people recently diagnosed with cancer.
Dr. Gayle Goldstein – Registered Psychologist, TLC Co-Executive Director

Dr. Gayle Goldstein began her career as a medical psychologist providing psychological services to
families, patients, and medical staff on the UCLA bone marrow transplant service. Dr. Goldstein was
Chief Psychologist of the multi-disciplinary team for UCLA’s cancer pain out-patient services and
Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Pain Management Program. In addition, Dr. Goldstein has been
an integral member of major research investigations and has published articles focused on psychosocial aspects of AIDS and cancer. She brings 27 years of experience as a clinical psychologist
assisting individuals from diverse backgrounds to her role as co-director and psychologist to TLC. Her
areas of specialization include trauma, depression, anxiety and pain management. She is passionate
about instilling hope through education about coping strategies and application of psychological tools
to create more positive patterns and beliefs.

President: Ms. Lisa Beck
Lisa has worked most her career building organizations through it's people. A seasoned human
resources professional she has a diverse background in the hi-tech, medical and education sectors on a
global scale. She has provided leadership and management in all areas of human resources. She holds
a degree in business and liberal studies from SFU and post graduate studies in strategic human resource
management. Her area of expertise lies in the development of programs that enhance organizational
performance and individual development. This is achieved through partnering with people in a thought
provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional
potential.
Treasurer: Ms. Linda Richkum
Linda specializes in consumer markets, real estate and private companies. She has her BBA from
Simon Fraser University and works with KPMG Vancouver doing Canadian tax consulting and private
company tax services. She has graced TLC with her budgeting knowledge and has drawn up a yearly
proforma using her valuable expertise.
Secretary: Ms. Deanna Adams
Deanna Adams has a BS in Environmental Science from Huxley College at Western Washington
University and graduated from the Burnley School of Art & Art Institute of Seattle. She worked in the
fields of environmental health and environmental science as well as graphic design, and writing. She
has volunteered in schools for many years and is the secretary for a strata organization. Deanna has
family and friends who have been touched by cancer, and she is excited to be involved with TLC as an
organization focused on supporting individuals who are experiencing cancer.

Christine Roocroft is a mother to three remarkable children and a wife to her incredible husband, Tom.
They chose to raise their family on Bowen island to instill it’s gifts of tranquility and freedom. They
enjoy operating a successful landscaping/excavating company delighting in it’s challenges and
rewards. Christine has graciously offered her time as Chair of the TLC board.
