A Note From The President
First and foremost, I would like to thank Pavolina Owczar and her amazing group of volunteers for the huge
success of this year’s Holiday Craft Fair. It was great to see so many people involved in the day and so many
families participating. Congratulations to winning homerooms for having the most friends and family
members in attendance. The first place winners - Mme Prevost’s Grade 4 Homeroom who won a Pizza Lunch
and $100 worth of books for the class library and the Second Place Winners - Mme Pascal’s Grade 1
Homeroom who won $50 worth of books for the class library.
Thank you to all the kids that brought people to the Craft Fair and those that brought nonperishable goods for
our Holiday Baskets.
Thank you also to everyone that took the time to come to the Scholastic book fair on Portfolio night (and
during the day). A profit of $1,623.16 was made for our school library PLUS $416.25 in books for our library
and classrooms. Thank you to Lilyana, Christina Mehra, Christine Wilson Giasson, Anisha Shaffie, Joanne
Anderson, Diane Vaillancourt, betty Ludwa, Marcy-Lynn Lewis, Christine Gaucher, Nina Tetreault, Tara HaleBeres and Anandee Seshadri for all of your hard work setting it up and working throughout the day. It is
GREATLY appreciated!
If you are thinking of giving gift cards out as gifts this Christmas…why not purchase them via Fundscrip and
help raise money for the school at the same time. Great teacher’s gifts, stocking stuffers and more… Pay face
value for a gift card, get face value at the retailer and a percentage (up to 10%) goes directly to H&S. With
over 170 Canadian retailers, there is a gift card for any occasion. Fundraise for Edgewater without it costing
anything more than you would already be spending. Order the cards at the beginning of the week and receive
them a few days later. There isn’t an easier or more convenient way to raise money for our school. For

H&S will be beginning the New Year with lots of exciting events. The end of January we will be celebrating
“Born to read” and Literacy week, February brings TSAW (Teacher Staff Appreciation Week) and Anti bullying
Week including Pink Shirt Day on February 24, 2015 (keep an eye out in kiddie mail for how you can help with
these events)
There will be no H&S meeting for the month of December, so we will be back to business on Tuesday January
6, 2015

2015! They look amazing and the kids are wearing them with pride!
If you are planning on picking up tasty treats for holiday parties, Christmas Dinner or New Year’s
Festivities, why not shop at M&M Meat Shop in L’Ile Perrot, Edgewater will receive 3% of all sales if you
mention you have a child at Edgewater! This is a “no cost to you” fundraiser for our school. Tell your
friends and family to mention Edgewater when shopping!
This offer is valid ONLY at the L’Ile Perrot location and you must mention Edgewater prior to the transaction going
