FOOD BANK CHALLENGE
To all attending clubs, swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteers: This year the Cascade Swim
Club will be setting up a number of hampers to collect donations for the food bank for those that
find themselves in need. Officials and swimmers will have the opportunity to accept raffle tickets
in exchange for food item donations and we would hope that all those in attendance this year
would support the effort of filling our food hampers. All food item donations will be going to the
Calgary Food Bank and they are in particular need of items such as the following: soup cans,
rice, canned fruit, diapers, canned fish, canned green vegetables, fruit juice, pasta sauce,
canned tomatoes, peanut butter, canned meat & protein, pasta and baby formula. 42% of food
bank clients are children and this year we are asking for your support in helping our donation
drive. All team donations will be recognized during the meet for their contributions.
ELIGIBILITY
Swimmers may not be entered in any events for which they have a current Provincial “A” time
with the exception of the 11&U boys and 10&U girls for which there are no de-qualifying time
standards.
Coaches are asked to use the Honour System when entering their athletes and respect
the spirit of this rule that allows only “B” and under times for any given event, including
relay legs (ie a swimmer with an “A” time in the 50m butterfly should not swim butterfly on
the 4x50 medley relay).
In the event that an “A” swimmer is entered into an event in which they are not eligible the
Cascade Meet Management Group reserves the right to enter him/her as exhibition,
including relays.
