34th ANNUAL PUMPKIN MINI-MEET 2014 The Pumpkin Mini-Meet was started 34 years ago and was designed to be an introductory meet for young, new Class E swimmers ages 5-8. This has always been a big, fun meet and we are happy to continue the tradition. Unlike other meets, the children will compete with swimmers their own age in one year increments. This makes it less intimidating for young swimmers. This meet helps new swimmers get over their first meet jitters. This allows them to feel more comfortable once our dual meet season starts. Boys and girls compete separately; girls events are odd numbered and boys are even numbered. The events are organized in heats of 6 swimmers and grouped by times slower to faster. The events run quickly so please make sure to keep your swimmers on deck at all times. LOCATION: UMass Boston Clark Athletic Center 100 William T. If the swimmer will be over 8 on December 1st, 2014 they are not eligible to swim. Events are organized by one year age increments. AWARDS: Prizes will be given to heat winners. Ribbons will be awarded to all swimmers. Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams Girls and Boys scored separately. FOOD: A concession stand will be in operation for the duration of the meet. There will be NO bake sale, please make sure to remind your parents to pack healthy snacks!
