Opportunity: General Manager Grande Prairie Curling Centre Closing Date: February 14, 2015 To apply – email resume to [email protected] or by mail Box 157, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 3A4 Position Overview: The Grande Prairie Curling Centre is a non-profit organization that operates an 8 sheet curling facility as well as a banquet and meeting facility and is currently looking for a General Manager to ensure the smooth functioning of internal and external systems for the organization. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to build and maintain a positive and productive environment for the sport of curling and building and maintaining banquet and meeting room facility rentals. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors. Key Responsibilities In this managerial role, the candidate will be responsible for: Developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure levels of satisfaction for the facility Promotion of the sport of curling and marketing the curling centre and its activities for potential revenues in both sponsorship and banquet/meeting operations Financial management in developing budgets and planning for future financial projects Attending regular board meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes and follow up on action items for the Board of Directors Oversees all departments which include ice management, lounge, kitchen facilities Ensuring courteous and professional service to members of the curling centre and general public Willing to work flexible hours around the curling centres calendar It would be preferred but not necessary, the successful candidate have experience working in a non-profit environment, sport management and knowledge of the food and beverage industry.
