CV CUS CUS Padova is the University Sport Association of the Veneto Region of Italy, it promotes sport activities as essential cultural and educational mean for students, trainers and university staff, to develop trasversal and integrated skills. It supports the practice and the diffusion of physical education as part of amateur sports. CUS Padova fosters children, youth and adult education through cultural courses. It supplies services for schools, implementing at the local level research and training programmes to develop active citizenship and leadership of young people. It organises socio-cultural initiatives and leisure activities in favor of the shareholders, members and participants enrolled. It carries out training projects for technicians, sport managers and students as well as for disadvantaged people. It especially organises sport activities for disable people: the only one University Italian wheelchair basketball team plays here. It supports training of trainers’ programmes for social inclusion of disables, like sign languages courses. Since 1988 CUS Padova has promoted international and national events of amateur and competitive sport. In its sports facility European and International students exchanges take place every year. At the same time CUS Padova enhances human and civil rights on its territory, through different means such as music, cinema, sport festival and historic expositions in collaboration with University of Padua and several ONGs (i.e. Shoah Memorial thanks to Conseil Regional Ile-de France partnership). In the development of its activities it benefits of different university departments’ sponsorship and it works within different networks as CUSI (Italian University Sports Centre); FISU (FÈdÈration Internationale du Sport Universitaire), of which it is a founding member, and EUSA (European University Sports Association). CUS Padova obtained the recognition of the legal personality of the Veneto Region, in accordance with local regulations. The Agreement with the National Network CUSI includes its recognition to sports purposes, in accordance with existing legislation.
