Iowa Games The first annual Iowa Games Curling Bonspiel will be hosted by the Cedar Rapids and Des Moines Curling Clubs at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. January 30-31, 2015. US Arena National Championships Cedar Rapids selected to host 2015 Arena National Championships on July 16-19, 2015. This will mark the third time that the Arena Nationals, one of USA Curling’s newer events, will be staged. The event supports athletes across the U.S. who participate in league play utilizing arena curling facilities. Learn to Curls What to learn about curling? Not sure where to begin? The Cedar Rapids Curling Club has two different ways that you can learn about the game. Introduction Brief introduction to the game. You will get about 30 minutes out on the ice. The instructors will walk you through all the basics of the game and if time permits, a brief game will follow. There may be up to 40 people out of the ice at one time broken into small groups of 4-5. Cost is $10 per person. Overview Leagues Spring Friday League is now forming. The league will start on Friday, February 6th from 9PM to 11:30 PM. Sign up NOW! Spring Sunday Morning League will hopefully start in late March. Your chance to get fully immersed in the different aspects of the game. You will get up to 2 hours and 15 minutes of on-ice instruction covering all the basics of the game plus time for game play. Space will be limited to 8 participants per night, and cost will be $20 per person. Instructors will work with you for as long as you like.
