Bulletin for February 1, 2015

St. John University Parish—Morgantown, West Virginia
The Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time—February 1, 2015
Cantors and support singers needed!
We are starting out this new year with a
severe shortage of Cantors/singers to
cover all four weekend masses. We especially have
need for 5:00 pm Saturday cantors and 6:30 pm
Sunday cantors. Please offer your talents. We
rehearse Tuesday evenings at 7:00. For more info,
please contact Carol at [email protected].
Dinner For A Dollar Sign-Ups for the Spring 2015
Semester! There are still a few more Thursdays open
for this very important part of our campus ministry
outreach. Sign-up in the back of the church, online
at www.mountaineercatholic.com/how-you-help, or
you can contact the Associate Director of Campus
Ministry, Jacob King at [email protected].
Donations For Utility/ Maintenance Expenses
A utility/maintenance envelope is included with your
February envelopes. This is to help defray the very
high cost of utilities, especially in the winter, here at
St. John. For example, last February the gas and
electric was $4200.00. The envelope is dated for
February 8. If you do not receive envelopes, please
consider donating online to the Utility Fund. To
donate online go to www.stjohnmorgantown.com and
click on the Online Giving link. The donations will
be used for the church building and Newman Hall
utility expenses. Thank you for your support.
New Lighthouse CD'S are here! Check out the
display on the table in the church entry. There are
many great topics: Lenten meditations, conversion
stories, women’s issues , and much more. $3.00/CD use the envelopes provided and place the money in
the collection or drop it off in the office.
Dear Parishioners,
Thank you for your generous donation of baby
toiletries and diapers from your Advent Giving Tree to
Birthright of Morgantown.
As you probably know, we use these items in our
layettes, which we give to every mother who requests one.
We deeply appreciate your doing this and
thinking of us.
Sincerely,
Christine Robison
Director

Attention, all St. John University Parish
parishioners, friends and family!
We would like to invite you to start a monthly pledge
to the Mountaineer Catholic Campus Ministry as the
last weeks of our St. John Parish appeal end on
February 1st, 2015.
Your annual pledge helps us forecast, with
confidence, the level of financial support our
congregation will receive in the year ahead.
It is through the pledges and contributions of
our members that we are able to carry on
Mountaineer Catholic’s work here at WVU.
As you consider your pledge, we remind you that we
offer Electronic Giving as a way to automate your
offerings. It is convenient for you and provides muchneeded consistency for the ministry. Donations can
fluctuate significantly from week to week but when
contributions are automated, the ministry receives the
funds it needs on a steady, uninterrupted basis.
Please visit the ministry website at
www.mountaineercatholic.com and locate the
giving page where you can set up both recurring and
one-time contributions.
Thank you for all your generous support and prayers!
We are Catholics by Conviction We are Mountaineer Catholic!
