John Weckend Office: M. Stenhouse Caretaker: Merv Harrick FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Jan. 31/Feb 1, 2015 The gospels name the forces of hell in 2 ways. Sometimes they speak of the devil and at other times of satan. Are they one in the same, not really. But the root of both lies in the same thing ENVY. The devil divides us from God & each other. Satan on the other hand unites us together but through the grip of mob-hysteria, envy-induced hype. The devil & satan are real. Jesus preaches of coming together and He, himself, always drew his vision & energy from a deeper source, his Father’s will not through group-thinking and when he looked for guidance he lifted his eyes towards heaven, not towards the crowd.
