Memorials
Condolences. On 10 February, we celebrated a Divine Liturgy for the Faithful Departed
for Josephine Elias, who passed away after a brief illness. We extend our condolences to
her sons and family and pray that God grant peace and joy to His servant, Josephine.

Assisted Hearing Devices. Through the generosity of Kennedy, Lewis, Green
Foundation and Robert Joseph, the parish has purchased a system to assist the hearing
impaired. There are devices for persons with hearing aids and persons who do not use
hearing aids. The devices can be purchased for $50. (If money is at all a problem, see
Father John.) Please call the Parish House during office hours and we will have a device
ready for you to be picked up in the Sacristy on the following weekend.
Christian Unity. For the past century, the Church has celebrated a week of prayer for
the unity of Christians who are divided, a situation contrary to the will of Christ. It is
easy to sow division, this year let us focus on fostering unity in our families, our parish
and our community.
Day of Prayer and Penance for Life. On 22 January, the Catholic Church in the United
States observes a day of prayer and penance for the respect of human life. We pray for
all of God’s children, the unborn, the sick, the handicapped, the elderly and all those
who are in danger of being marginalized or even eliminated. We should do penance for
all those acts of our society, such as the Supreme Court decision of Roe v Wade, that
promote a lack of respect for life at every stage.
Save the Date. As you know, Father Miled will be leaving us at the end of the month.
In order to wish him a farewell, we are going to have a reception following the 10am
Divine Liturgy on 26 January. Kathi Tamer is organizing the event. Details will follow.
Meet and Greet. The Saint Maron Hafli, on 1 February at 6pm in the Radisson will be
an opportunity to welcome our new priest, Father Elie Khalil, who will have just arrived.
Please plan on joining the parish as it celebrates the patron feast of our Church.
MYO Breakfast. The MYO would again like to thank our parishioners for their
continued support. We would also like to thank Mike Mitchell for cooking an excellent
breakfast for us. Please plan ahead to join us at our next breakfast on 2 February. It
will be a Lebanese breakfast to welcome our new priest, Father Elias Khalil. We will be
serving breakfast starting at 9am-12pm. Hope to see you there!
Discussion Group. The Thursday Discussion Group is held on the first Thursday of
the month at 6pm in the Parish House. The next session will be Thursday, 6 February
at 6pm.
Feast if Saint Maron. On 9 February, we Maronites celebrate the feast of our patron,
Saint Maron, whose life of faith and penance has inspired millions of faithful for
centuries. We shall honor him at the 10am Divine Liturgy.
Eucharistic Adoration. Eucharistic Adoration is held on the second Thursday of the
month at 6pm, for one hour, to give thanks to God for the blessings we have received.
The next hour will be on Thursday, 13 February.
A contribution of $10.00 will memorialize a
loved one for the entire week.
