The purpose of the Mill Street Environmental Club is to help our students and community learn
how to participate in our recycling efforts. Club members will make crafts out of re-purposed
materials, learn how to create and sustain our own energy source, and participate in
presentations conducted by community members. Students will organize and help run the Used
Book Sale in the fall and spring as well as volunteering as Table Captains at lunch time. The
club is open to 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Our first club meeting is Tuesday, October 7 th at 7:30 am

The Ice Cream Social Committee would like to send a big thank you out to all our friends and families that
made our Mill Street Ice Cream Social very successful!
First, we thank all our wonderful, caring teachers, along with Mrs. Baum, who showed up to make ice cream
sundaes for their students. There were more teachers than ever sharing their evening time and putting smiles
on our children's faces. Mr. Quaid also made sure we had an awesome music system to use in the gym. Along with our teachers, our
custodial staff is always there to support our requests and make the school look great for the evening.
Secondly, we receive a generous supply of ice cream from our Mill Street parent, Mr. Jim Oberweis. Thank you for giving us such delicious
ice cream! Also we are grateful to Jeff Saad and the Jel Sert Company for donating yummy popsicles once again.
Last, thank you to the following parents that donated their time to put this whole event together by scooping ice cream, doing ticket sales,
running all night to stock our ice cream stations, providing music for dancing, monitoring kids in the gym or being a DJ for the hula hoop
contests: Rene Grady, Kelly O'Malley, Sarah Dunne, Stephanie Mackey, Ana Villareal, Linda Kolnicki, Fu Shaohua, Lance Jansen,
Andy Scharm, Amy Rossi, Heather Queen, Julie Rayburn, Susan Swanson, Ginny Wehrli-Hemmeter, Geetha Kagathi, Erika Catemaxca,
Jackie Barkdoll, Lene Christiansen, Meredith Day, Kim Henderson, Tonya Schmidt, Kristi Hollingsworth and Sara Hoag.
We look forward to our next Ice Cream Social with all of you, Anne Scharm & Jackie Saad
