About the Institution
The foundation stone of the college was laid on 25th December 2005
by late Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, former Chief Minister of A.P.
The college started functioning with six branches from the academic
year 2006–07, as the constituent college of the erstwhile JNTU,
Hyderabad. After quadrification of JNTU in 2008, it became the
constituent college of JNTUA, Anantapuramu. Ever since, the college
has been striving hard to emerge as a premier institution of excellence
in the field of Science and Technology. The campus is spread over a
sprawling 170 acres in a calm, serene and pollution free environment.
At present, the college has got academic autonomy from the academic
year 2013–14. Recently college has nominated for QEEE program by
MHRD, New Delhi.
TEQIP was commissioned in many technical education institutes
under the able guidance of Ministry of Human Resource Development
towards enhancing the academic and research potential of the
supported institutes in order to produce world class engineering
graduates. JNTUA College of Engineering, Pulivendula is one of the
premier institutes in the state implementing the TEQIP. Phase-II. The
main objectives of TEQIP are (i) Increasing the enrollment in existing
and new PG programmes in Engineering and applied sciences, (ii)
Providing avenues for advancement of professional qualifications,
subject knowledge and research competence through training
programmes in the form of workshops, seminars, conferences, etc in
modern areas of S&T, (iii) Promoting research in cutting-edge
technologies by supporting interdisciplinary centres of excellence,
institute- industry liaison and international collaboration for academic
exchange and (iv) Supporting postgraduate programmes in new and
industry focused engineering subjects.

Description:
Cloud computing is emerging the 5th computing utility apart from the
four utilities such as water, gas, electricity and telephone. Cloud
computing has recently emerged as one of the buzzwords in the IT
industry. Several IT vendors are promising to offer storage, application
and computation hosting services, and provide coverage in several
continents, offering Service Level Agreements (SLA) backed
performance and uptime promises for their services. While these
‘clouds’ are the natural evolution of traditional clusters and data
centers, they are distinguished by following a “utility” pricing model
where customers are charged based on their utilization of
computational resources , storage and transfer of data.
Cloud computing throws a lot of challenges in development of new
programming models and viewed as a Next Revolution / Big Switch in
IT and the industry is rapidly shifting its focus from developing
applications for PCs to Data Centers and Clouds that enable millions
of users make use of software simultaneously. Cloud Computing is
creating a huge demand of man power with skills in distributed
computing and service oriented Architecture development.
