2015 Seminar Program Sponsored by Av. Països Catalans, 16, Campus Sescelades (St. Pere i St. Pau), Tarragona. Tel. 977920200 Hypervalent Iodine Reagents in the Direct Oxidative Coupling Dr. Andrey P. Antonchick Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology and Technical University of Dortmund (Germany) Friday 30th January, 2015. ICIQ Auditorium, 12 p.m. Professional Career He was born in 1976 in Bobruisk, USSR. He studied chemistry at Belarusian State University (Minsk, Belarus) and received a PhD from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Minsk) and the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology (Jena, Germany) under the guidance of Prof. V.A. Khripach and PD Dr. B. Schneider. After a postdoctoral appointment with Prof. M. Rueping at Frankfurt University (Germany), he joined the group of Prof. H. Waldmann. In June, 2010 he was appointed group leader at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology. Research Interests His research interests encompass the development of new reaction methodologies, including the development of C-H bond functionalization methods, application of hypervalent iodine reagents in organic synthesis, enantioselective catalysis, synthesis of bioactive compounds and their evaluation.
