City of Sustainability
A Platform for Dialogue and Networking
Highlights of the City of Sustainability
Join us in the City to interact with German experts on key questions
around sustainable development and financing. Central issues are
energy efficiency and the impact of climate change, vocational training,
consumption and production patterns as well as building the cities of
the future.
A daily program on the Marketplace stage will showcase innovative
examples. Representatives of business, politics, non-governmental
organizations, science and research will present practical solutions.
Agentur für Wirtschaft und Entwicklung
The Agency for Business and Economic Development is the central point
of contact for companies, chambers of commerce and industry, and
trade associations for sustainable involvement in developing countries
and emerging economies. It is the key interface between German
Development Cooperation and the private sector.
Food Court
All participants are warmly welcome to join the daily networking lunch
at the Food Court from 12:30-2:00 pm. Picnic style dishes will be
available free of charge.
Coffee Corner
Take a break here from your busy meeting schedule and enjoy a coffee
or snacks.
Meeting Points
Looking for a place to talk? Various meeting points and lounge areas
have been created all over the City of Sustainability for informal talks
or work meetings. Charge your mobile devices on smart cubes hanging
from nearby trees.
Sustainability made in Germany becomes alive
We don’t just talk Sustainability. The wood used for building the City
of Sustainability will be recycled by local manufacturers for a cultural
center near Berlin. The City is operated by electricity from renewable
sources and waste will be avoided where possible or else recycled.
Bike Circuit
Experience the latest technology in the field of green mobility. Try for
yourself and cycle around on our H2 bikes powered by hydrogen and
oxygen instead of traditional batteries.
Exhibition “Germany’s Energy Transition”
Some 40 years ago, a true revolution towards a more sustainable supply
of energy started in Germany. Learn how the country switches to the
future in the Federal Foreign Office’s international exhibition.

FinTechs
FinTechs are start-up businesses that foster financial inclusion by the
use of innovative technology, making financial services more efficient
and accessible. Meet the CEOs of 4 FinTechs to learn more.
GOVET
GOVET is the German Government´s central office for international
cooperation in VET at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education
and Training (BIBB). As a key contact point, it provides guidance,
information and advice as well as helping to network stakeholders in VET
cooperation and pool their expertise.
Liaison Office for Local Actors and Municipal Authorities
The Liaison Office offers information and advice on municipal
partnerships and opportunities for the exchange of know-how between
cities in Germany and various Asian countries.”
Recycling Center
The art intervention “socialplastics” by Gerhard Bär is a participative
project combating poverty. It combines recycling used plastics and
raising awareness for environmental issues.
