A
Message
From
Fr.
Manny
Dear St. Francis Family,
We celebrate this weekend the feast of the Divine Mercy of our Lord. God has been merciful, loving and forgiving to His people as He revealed to St. Faustina, the privileged recipient of God’s message of mercy.
“It is that God loves us – all of us. And He wants us to
recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we
will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy and let it
flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His
joy.” (Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, MIC)
Pope Francis in one of his first homilies after being elected to
Papacy said: “The joy of God is the joy of forgiveness.” It has
been in the history of our salvation, the very nature of God to love,
care and forgive His people and bring them to repentance. “If my
people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and
pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear them from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal
their land.” (2Chr. 7:14)
May we all extend God’s love and forgiveness to others as our response to the incredible love and mercy of God
in our lives as expressed in the prayer of our patron saint,
St. Francis, allowing the Lord to make us instruments of his
love and mercy to His people, especially in this parish.
May the Divine Mercy bless all of us. Amen
Fr. Manny
Padre Manny
Registration for Religious Education:
Registration for RE classes will open to new students on
April 7th and will continue until all available space is filled.
Our parish has 6 classrooms available for classes on Sundays. Each classroom can hold a maximum of 24 students.
Every year, there are more students wanting to enroll than
we have room for. In order to make sure that all active and
supporting members of our community can be served, registration with the parish must be current and verified before a
student can be registered. If you are receiving envelopes,
then your registration is current. If you are not sure if your
family is registered, you can verify through the RE office at
972-227-0770.
Registration can be done online at stfrancislancaster.org.
Some registration can also be done on the phone at 972-227
-0770 or through email at [email protected]. Walk in registration will be available beginning April 7th from 9:30-2:30
including lunch hour. The RE Office will be open for registration on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-2:30 pm,
Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm, and on Sundays from 8:30
am-1:00 pm.
Classes for grades 1-6 are held on Sundays at 8:30-9:40 am
and 11:00 am-noon. For grades 7th and up, all classes are
on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. All students are placed
in grade level classes, with exceptions for special needs students determined on a case by case basis. Students are able
to make 1st Reconciliation and 1st Holy Communion at the
end of 2nd grade if they have 2 years of classes. Students
are able to make Confirmation at the end of 8th grade if
they have 2 years of classes. Students who are in their second year and are receiving sacraments will also need to attend additional sessions for parents and students together. If
a student is well beyond the age for 1st Holy Communion,
that student will be enrolled in a grade level and will need
to return the following year and complete it before making
their 1st Communion. Also, a student who is in 10th or 11th
grade and needs to make 1st Communion and/or Confirmation, will most likely be directed to an adult class, RCIA for
example.
FEES: There are fees for the classes to help our church pay
for the resources used. The fees schedule is at follows:
One student——$50
Two students in the same family-$60 for the family Three
or more students in the same family-$75 for
the family.
Fees may be paid at the time of registration through September 30th. Fees may be paid by check to St. Francis or in
cash. When paying fees, give the names of the students. A
late fee of $10 will be added for all fees paid after September 30th. If fees cannot be paid, please speak with the Director. No child will be denied because of an inability to
pay fees.
