CIEEJ1517 Ato Village Life /YAMAGUCHI Length: 6th August – 17th August Vols: 10 Age: 18 – 40 Language: English / Japanese Host Organization： Chusankan chiiki Kassei Kenkyu Kai CULT/ENVI Background: A local group revitalizing rural farm village started their project last year to provide places for the local Youth and adults to interact each other. They appeal the importance of self-sufficient and sustainable life in this area. CIEE Japan has started this STV in 2014 with one Russian organization and we will host it again with a group of several nationalities in 2015. Work: -Prepare summer camp for local elementary school children and do farmwork -Participate actively in cross generational exchange events -Experience ZAZEN tradition Accommodation: Ganjyoji Onsen 道の駅願就寺温泉 (http://www.ganjyoju.com/) Facilities: A large TATAMI room for volunteers (you may share a room with other volunteer) Meals: Rice and vegetables will be provided and volunteers take turns and cook by themselves. Location and leisure: During day off, you can go sightseeing in the area. Traditional Paper Lantern festival and apple picking will be planned. SL locomotive only runs in summer season. Hot spring and a stone-piled pot will be of your attraction. Station: Jifuku Station (地福駅) in August 6th 14:50 PM You will be meeting up with a project leader at JR Shin Yamaguchi Station at 13:00 PM and everyone takes a train together to come to Jifuku Station. Train will leave before 13:30. Make sure to be there on time! Otherwise you will have to come to Jifuku station by yourself. Train runs only few in the afternoon. Requirement： Sleeping bag is a must. Daily supplies such as facial towels, toothpaste, brush, shampoo and conditioner are recommended.
