5 died in road mishap under Chawmanu PS
Today on 31-12-14 at about 1345 hours, one vehicle(Bolero pickup van) bearing
No.TR-04-1505 with passengers was proceeding towards Chawmanu from Thalcherra
market and while reach at Wakirai Para (about 28 Km South – East from PS) met an
accident. As a result (1) Dhaniram Tripura (15), S/O Sri Sachida Tripura of Schindra
Roaja Para (2) Reha Kumar Tripura S/O Sri Kunda Kumar Tripura of Sachindra Roaja
Para, (3) Smt. Sari Tripura(30), W/O Sri Sanijoy Tripura (4) Smt. Karamdebi Tripura
(18), W/O Sri Dhansingh Tripura of Rajendra Roaja Para and (5) Smt. Kaijari Tripura
(25), W/O Sri Gopaljoy Tripura of Sachindra Roaja Para died in this accident(4 on the
spot and one on way to hospital). 20 persons are also injured in this accident are
admitted in ChawmanuHospital for treatment. The accident occurred due to rash and
negligent driving on the part of the driver of the vehicle. Chawmanu PS staff rushed to
the place of occurrence and evacuated the injured persons. Details are awaited

Tripura Police Duty Meet 2014-15 inaugurated.
Today(26-12-14) at 1000 hours, Sri K. Nagaraj, DGP, has inaugurated Tripura Police
Duty Meet-2014-15 in CID complex, A.D.Naga which is 1st of its kind in the state. This duty meet
includes competition among investigating officers on the subjects like identification of evidences at
scene of crime, collection of physical evidences and its handling / packing, development of finger
print / foot print and use of other scientific evidences. The duty meet will continue for 2 days.
Total 41 investigating officers participated in the competition. Sri Anurag, IGP(L/O) and Sri
K.Nagaraj, DGP, Tripura explained the importance of this kind of police duty meet aiming at the
enhancement of quality of investigating officer resulting in increase of conviction rate.

Tripura State Police duty meet 2014-15.
Tripura Police is going to organize the “Tripura State Police Duty Meet- 2014-2015” on the
eve of Police Week- 2015. This duty meet will include competition among various Police Units on
their professional efficiency in investigation. The programme will be held on 26th December, 2014
at 1000 hrs at CID Complex, A.D.Nagar. DGP, Tripura has kindly consented to grace the occasion
as Chief Guest and will inaugurate the said programme. Senior Police Officers will also remain
present in the programme.
On this occasion, we cordially invite all press / media persons of Print / Electronic / AIR /
Doordarshan to kindly attend the said programme on 26-12-14 at 1000 hours at A.D.Nagar CID
complex.

One died in road accident under Budhjung Nagar PS.
Today on 22-12-14 at about 1220 hours, one truck bearing registration No.TRL-2936 and
one motor bike bearing registration No.TR-01-R-8673 were proceeding in the same direction
towards G.B. from Banikya Chowmohani side. While the truck and the motor bike reached at
West Noabadi,Sadhan Chowmohani (about 3 Km South – West from PS) where the road takes turn
the motor bike went ahead overtaking the truck. All on a sudden another bike bearing registration
No.TR-01-E-6157 appeared there from the opposite direction. Both the bikes collided head on
each other. As a result, the bike riders / pillion riders fell down on the ground. Out of them one
bike rider namely Rana Debbarma(35), S/O Sri Purnaram Debbarma of Abhicharan Para, PSLefunga came under the speeding wheels of the truck and died at the spot. Other Bike rider/
pillion riders suffered simple injuries on their persons. Budhjungnagar PS staff visited the place of
occurrence and seized the truck and the 2 motor bikes. The driver of the truck fled away after the
incident. A specific case is being registered in this regard.

Simple imprisonment under R.K.Pur PS.
On 20-12-14 Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Udaipur, Gomati Tripura convicted one Sri
Suresh Debnath S/O Sri Rai Charan Debnath of Gakul Nagar, PS-Bishaglarh u/s 279/338 IPC and
sentenced to suffer 3 months simple imprisonment and fine of Rs.1000/-.

One died in road accident under Jirania PS.
Today at about 1500 hours, when two persons were proceeding towards Agartala
from Teliamura side riding in a motor bike and reached at Berimura Bardowal on National High
Way under Jirania PS met an accident. The place of occurrence is located at about 16 Km East
from Jirania PS. On receipt of information of the accident O.C Jirania PS rushed to the spot and
found two persons were lying at the road side at Berimura Bardowal. One motor bike bearing
registration No.TR-04-A-4898 was also found near them. Out of two persons one is found dead on
the spot and another one is found is an injured condition. The dead person is identified as Akhil
Debbarma aged about 20 years S/O Bishmoy Debbarma of Kalinagar, PS-Jirania. The injured
person is identified as Amit Debbarma (25), S/O Budhurai Debbarma of Murapara, PS-Ranirbazer.
It is suspected that unknown vehicle might have dashed the motor bike and fled away. The injured
person was immediately shifted to Jirania Hospital. The condition of injured person is also critical.
Efforts are being made to identify the offending vehicle and to apprehend the driver of that
vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

Return of kidnapped persons under Raishyabari PS.
On 16-12-2014 at about 1830 hours, 2 (two) persons namely (1) Alendra Tripura (22),
S/O Sri Falgun Tripura and (2) Gunadhan Tripura (18), S/O Sri Madhu Kr. Tripura both of Maya
Kumar Para, PS-Raishyabari returned from the captivity of extremists. They were kidnapped on
09-11-2014 from Maya Kumar Para by a group of armed extremists.
On their return, they
reported to Inspector Manoj Kumar at Raishyabari, 48 Bn BSF, C.K.Bari BOP. Later on they were
handed over to O/C, Raishyabari PS. They are being examined. This refers to Raishyabari PS Case
No.21/14 u/s.148/149/365/34 IPC, 10/13 ULA(P) Act and 27 Arms Act.
Road mishap under Kanchanpur PS.
On 17-12-14 at about 2030 hours, one vehicle bearing registration No.Tr-02-B-0599
(Sentro Zing) while proceeding towards Kanchanpur from Laljhuri side dashed one bi-cycle rider
namely Mohanlal Chakma (28), S/O Lt. Dayadhan Chakma of Santipur, PS-Kanchanpur at
Kanchanpur near Town Hall (about ½ Km North from PS), due to rash and negligent driving on the
part of the driver of the vehicle. As a result, Mohanlal Chakma received grievous injuries on his
person and was immediately shifted to Kanchanpur Hospital wherein he succumbed to his injuries
after some time. At that time Mohanlal Chakma was returning to his house riding his bi-cycle from
Kanchanpur market. After dashing the bicycle rider said vehicle dashed one motor bike bearing
registration No.TR-02-B-9166. Resulting, the motor bike was badly damaged. Kanchanpur PS staff
visited the place of occurrence, seized the offending vehicle and arrested the driver namely Ajoy
Chakma(19), S/O Sri Gunasindhu Chakma of Dupatacherra, PS-Kanchanpur. In this regard a case
was registered vide Kanchanpur PS Case No. 111/14 u/s 279/ 304(A) IPC and 184 M.V. Act.
Life imprisonment for killing own brother under Belonia PS.
On 18-12-14 the Court of Ld. District & session Judge, Belonia South Tripura convicted
accused Dipankar Roy (24) S/O Sri Jyoti Roy of West Muhuripur, P.S-Belonia, Dist.- South Tripura
u/s 302 IPC and sentenced him to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life and also to pay a fine of
rupees 5,000/- (Five thousand).
The case was registered on 03-05-13 at 1415 hrs on the basis of written complaint
lodged by Sri Sankar Roy S/O Sri Jyoti Roy of west Muhuripur (Bilash Nama Para) P.S- Belonia
against the above noted accused person for killing his own brother namely Shibu Roy. On that
fateful day both Dipankar Roy and Shibu Roy were working in the field. All on a sudden Dipankar
Roy assaulted his brother Shibu Roy by sharp cutting weapon. As a result Shibu Roy got injured
and later on succumbed to his injuries.
This ref. to Belonia P.S Case No. 82/2013 dated 03-05-13 U/S 302 IPC (ST. 77(ST/B) 13
& PRC- 150/13). After completion of investigation S.I Swapan Sarkar (now Inspector of Police O/C
BLN P.S), I.O of the case submitted C/S Vide No. 186/13 Dt. 31-10-13 U/S 302 IPC against the
above noted accused person to face the trail in the open Court of Law.
DT. 12-12-14.
One Accused convicted to suffer 3 years RI for bike theft
On 08-12-2014 Ld Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Sabroom, South Tripura has
convicted one accused namely Uttam Debbarma (23) @ Tukku S/O- Shri Rabi Debbarma of
Nepalibasti, Lembucherra, PS- LFG, West Tripura u/s 379 IPC.
On 29-05-2013 on the basis of complt. Shri Goutam Paul of Netajipalli, PS- Shilacherra, a
case vide SLC PS C/No. 12/2013 u/s 379 IPC was registered against unknown driver of auto for
causing theft in respect of one motor bike bearing no. AS-01X- 7491 (TVS Sport motor bike) of
the complt. from a workshop at SLC market at about 1100 hrs. During investigation of the case,
I/O of the case arrested the accused on the strength of evidence and filed charsheet against
accused Uttam Debbarma on 31-11-2013 u/s 379/ 411 IPC after completion of investigation.
The Ld Court on appreciation of evidence convicted accused person Uttam Debbarma to
suffer 3 years RI and also to pay fine of Rs. 5,000/- for the commission of offence punishable u/s
379/ 411 IPC.
DT. 11-12-14.
One driver kidnapped under Chawmanu PS
Today on 11-12-2014 at about 1030 hours, a group ofArmed extremists,
suspected to be NLFT (BM) kidnapped one AmritDas (27), S/O Jatindra Das of Asharambari,
PS-Khowai from abordering area (Pillar No.2284) under Chawmanu PS. The P.O. islocated
at a distance of 50 KM south from Chawmanu PS and comesunder the Biju BOP of 14 Bn BSF. The
kidnapped person was engagedas driver by NPCC. On receipt of this information, SP, Dhalai,
SDPO,Longtharai Valley and staff rushed to the spot. Security Forcesdeployed in bordering
area have been alerted. Efforts are on torecover the kidnapped person. Details are awaited.
DT. 10-12-14. 18 MPS (Prob.) Officers from Manipur now in Tripura
on 4 days study tour.
Eighteen (18) Manipur Police Service (Prob) officers including four lady officers now
undergoing Training at MPTC, Pangei, Manipur reached Tripura on a 4 days study tour from
09/12/2014 to 12/12/2014 as a part of their North East Darshan programme. The Officers are
accompanied by one SP level officer and one Asstt.Commandant. Today on 10/12/14, they called
on the DGP Tripura and had interactions with the senior Police Officers at PHQ conference hall.
They were interested in learning about the successes achieved by Tripura Police in dealing with
insurgency and restoration of normalcy. Shri K. Nagaraj, DGP, and Shri Anurag, IGP(L/O) and
other officers briefed them about Policing in Tripura during an interaction session at the PHQ.
(2) One dead body recovered from Howrah.
Today (10-12-14) at 0805 hrs OC A.D Nagar Police Station received information that a
motor bike was found floating inside the river Howrah near Khodhiram Bridge (West Pratapgarh).
OC visited the spot and recovered the Motor Bike bearing Registration No. TR-01-V-5431. During
preliminary enquiry, it is revealed that owner of the motor bike is one Sukanta Majumder S/O Sri
Ratikanta Majumder of Dhaleswer Road No 03, PS- East Agartala. During verification the house
inmates of Sukanta Majumder stated that the owner of the said motorbike is Sukanta Majumder
but he did not return home last night. Suspecting drowing of the said person in that river Howra
the OC PS conducted search with the help of some local public and the dead body of Sukanta
Majumder was recovered from that spot underneath the water. During investigation it revealed
that the said Sukanta Majumder visited the house of one relative located at nearby area at about
0100 hours on that night with his motor bike after consuming alcohol but his releative did not
open the gate. Then the said Sukanta Majumder left the house of his releative. The IO examined
the dead body and found two blackish injuries on the forehead of the deceased but sign and
symptoms of drowing were seen during preparation of inquest report. The dead body was sent to
the Agartala Govt. Medical Hospital / GBP Hospital for PM examination. But the PM report is
pending. On the written report of Prasanta Laskar S/O Lt. Hemanta Laskar of Sree Palli,
Badharghat, PS- Amtali (causin of the deceased) A.D.Nagar PS U/D Case NO 20/14 U/S 174 Cr.PC
has been registered. So far investigation done by the IO it appears that this is a case of accidental
drowing fallen from a motor bike.
Road mishap under Kumarghat/Manu PSs.
DT. 09-12-14.
(1) On 08/12/2014 night at about 2130 hours, one un-identified Motor Bike dashed one
Amal Kanti Dhar (32), S/O Lt. Manmohan Dhar of East Ratacharra, PS- Kumarghat at Pabiacherra
on NH-44 near Old BOC (about 1 ½ Km North- East from PS), due to rash and negligent riding on
the part of the rider of the motor Bike, while Amal Kanti Dhar was returning to his house from
Pabiacherra Market. As a result, Amal Kanti Dhar received grievous injuries on his person and was
shifted to Kumarghat PHC wherein attending doctor declared him dead. Kumarghat PS staff visited
the place of occurrence. Efforts are on to trace out the un-identified Motor Bike and to arrest the
rider. A case has been registered in this regard.
(2) On 09/12/2014 at about 1515 hours, one Truck bearing registration No. AS-01-FC-7637
while proceeding towards 42 mile from Manu side collided head on with a Motor Bike bearing
registration No TR-02-9537 which was coming from opposite direction at Nalkata, Debipur Colony
on NH-44 (about 12 Km North- East from PS), due to rash and negligent driving on the part of the
driver of the Truck and the rider of the Motor Bike. AS a result Bike rider namely Bishu Kumar
Debbarma (45), S/O Lt. Nishiroy Debbarma of Manu Block Tilla, PS-Manu received grievous
injuries on his person and died at the spot. Manu PS staff visited the place of occurrence and
shifted the dead body to Manu Hospital. The Truck and the Motor Bike were seized. The Truck
driver fled away after the incident. A specific case is being registered in this regard.

Murder under East Agartala PS
On 07-12-14 at
noon, East Agartala PS staff recovered an unknown male dead
body aged about 35/36 years with head injuries from Jogendranagar Nath Para (about 04 Km
South East from PS). Police also recovered one water bottle, two plastic glasses, two empty
foreign liquor bottles, one money bag containing Rs. 200/-, one mobile charger and one head
phone from the spot. The unknown dead body was shifted to GB hospital. It is suspected that
unknown miscreants might have killed the unknown person on the night of 07-12-2014 at any
time. Efforts are on to identify the unknown dead body and to trace out the culprits and to
arrest them. A case has been registered in this regard.
Road mishap under Anandabazar & A.D.Nagar PSs
On 07/12/2014 at about 1700 hours, one vehicle bearing registration NO TR-021798 (Max pick-up) loaded with chips while proceeding towards Chaigharpur from Bhandarima
side overturned at Chaigharpur (about 21 Km South from PS), due to rash and negligent driving
on the part of the driver of the vehicle. As a result the driver of the said vehicle namely
Prabiram Reang (28), S/O Jogendra Reang of Ananda Bazar, PS- Ananda Bazar received
grievous injuries on his person and was shifted to Ananda Bazar PHC wherein he succumbed to
his injuries. Ananda Bazar PS staff visited the place of occurrence and seized the vehicle. In this
regard a case has been registered.
On 07/12/2014 at about 2030 hours, one Auto Rikshaw bearing registration NO
TR-01-C-4404 while proceeding towards Camper Bazar from Battla side dashed one Pedestrian
namely Manish Dey (32), younger brother of the complainant at A.D Nagar Road No 6 (about
500 Mtrs North East from PS), due to rash and negligent driving on the part of the driver of the
Auto Rikshaw. As a result, Manish Dey received grievous injuries on his person and was shifted
to GB hospital wherein attending doctor declared him dead. A.D Nagar PS staff visited the place
of occurrence and seized the Auto Rikshaw. The driver of the Auto Rikshaw namely Sankar
Majumder (32), S/O Lt. Pabitra Majumder of Bhattapukur, PS A.D Nagar was arrested. In this
regard a case has been registered.

Dead body found at Golchakkar identified
On 07/12/2014 one un-identified male deadbody was found at Golchakkar under West
Agartala PS identified today as Pravash Datta (48) S/O Lt. Sachindra Lal Datta of Kanchannagar
under Santirbazar PS. He was a Rickshaw puller by profession. The dead body was identified by
Smt Dipali Datta W/O deceased Pravash Datta. During preliminary investigation it is revealed
that deceased Pravash was a habitual drunker and used to sleep at various places like Market
shed/Sani mandir/ Passenger shed etc. After completion of PM examination at AGMC & GBP
Hospital,a the dead body was handed over to wife of the deceased. PM report is awaited.
Investigation is on.

Road mishap under Teliamura PS
Today on 03-12-14 at about 1530 hours, one vehicle bearing registration No.TRT-3005 (Jeep)
with passengers was proceeding towards Debthang (Hrangkhal Para) from Teliamura side. Most of
the passengers were participants in the World disabled day function held today at Teliamura Town
Hall. While the vehicle reached at South Pulinpur on NH-44 (about 2 km South - West from PS)
dashed behind with a Truck bearing registration No.TR-01-R-1762(12 wheeler) while the said
Truck was moving backwards. As a result 10/11 passengers of the Jeep received grievous injuries
on their persons and were shifted to Teliamura Hospital. Out of them one injured namely Smt.
Budhini Hrankhal (36), D/O Lt. Joy Hari Hrankhal of Debthang, PS-Teliamura who is reportedly a
handicapped died at the spot. One injured person namely Kusumsen Hrangkhal (45), S/O Lt.
Budhijing Hrangkhal of Debthang has been referred to GBPHospital and his condition is stated to
be critical. Treatment of other injured persons are going on in Teliamura Hospital. Teliamura PS
staff visited the place of occurrence, seized both the vehicles. The drivers of both the vehicles fled
away after the incident. A specific case is being registered in this regard.

Accused convicted in theft case under R.K.Pur PS.
On 29-11-2014, the Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Udaipur Gomati Tripura convicted one
accused person namely Amir Islam @ Salim S/O Abdul Rasid of Sonamura, Tamsabari, PSSonamura, under Sepahijala and sentenced to suffer imprisonment for 2(two) years and to pay
fine of Rs-5000/- U/S-380 (theft case) and also for 6(six) months imprisonment u/s 448 (house
breaking).
