His wonder is mixed with joy and relief for a baby
born so far from home
Come close to the baby
His contentment gives no hint of the joy and
tragedy which lie ahead

Great God of Grace and Glory, your light has shone
upon us in the birth of your beloved son, Jesus.
With joy and wonder, we lift our hearts and minds
to you and marvel at the goodness of your grace.
Jesus' birth was a miracle and a sure sign of your
love for us. Let us except that Love and shout
Hallelujah!

PRAYER OF COMNFESSION:
God of infinite love, we confess that we are quick to
give up on ourselves and others. We fail to trust that
you are with us when our lives become filled up with
busyness or darkness, sadness or conflict.

Forgive us when we fail to see your face in the
people around us. Fill us with your graciousness
that as we are forgiven, so may we be a forgiving,
reconciling people. Amen.
