RELIGIOUS EDUCATION – Last week I was in New Orleans at a
Religious Education Workshop with parishioners in St. Michael
Parish School of Religious (Sunday school for children and
adults and RCIA) To you who share your faith with the people
of St. Michael, I say a sincere THANK YOU, and you have my
wholehearted support. These parishioners attended the
conference: Anita Hossley, Kay & Fred Farrell, Janey
Seabergh, Hilton Kalusche, Cheryl & Jerry Roberts, Jessica
Delk, Tracy Chaney, Laura McCallum, David McHan, Joan &
Thomas Thornton & Helene Benson.

SODALITY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY – will hold it’s
January meeting of Thursday, January 22nd at 2 p.m. in St.
Michael Education Center.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS –
Feb. 7th – Valentines Dance – 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Cost
is $5 per person. DJ with variety of music. Casual
dress. Bring finger food & drink. Bring special
someone or just good friends. Call Warren Doiron

“Little Black Books” will be available beginning
Feb. 7-8 for the Lenten season. All profits from the
Lenten books will be added to the Advent profits
and presented to VCS tuition assistance Fund.
Please be generous with your contributions for this
worthwhile cause.
Fish Fry – to benefit Haven House is Friday, Feb.
13th and April 10th. KC Fish Fry every Friday during
Lent EXCEPT Good Friday.
CYO – EDGE and LIFETEEN will be in Farrell Hall
this Sunday, Jan. 18th, at 5:30 p.m. following Youth
Mass at 4:30 p.m. at St. Paul. Dinner will be
provided. Volunteers interested in providing meals
during CYO meetings please contact Brian McFall
at 361-215-1594.
GOOD SAMARITAN DRIVERS - A list is posted in
the library behind the glass of drivers that have
volunteered to drive parishioners if they need a ride
to Mass, functions, meetings, Dr. visits, etc. If you
would like to be a part of this ministry, please sign
up in the vestibule of the church. Thank you.
CATHOLIC DAY AT THE CAPITAL - will be on
Feb. 4th. If you are interested in attending call
Helene at Parish office.
OLD TESTAMENT: GOD’S REVELATION - sponsored by the
Diocese of Jackson Office of Faith Formation, is a 16-hour
course that provides a basic understanding of the Bible and its
use. From 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursdays, 1/15, 29; 2/12, 26; 3/5, 19;
4/9, 23, St. Michael Education Building, Anita Hossley
instructor. To register: e-mail [email protected]. Fee $20
plus textbook. All adults are welcome to participate.
RESPECT FOR LIFE – January 22nd marks the “42nd
Anniversary” of Roe V Wade legalizing abortion. Please pray
and educate yourself so we may end abortion. God Bless You.
RESPECT FOR LIFE POSTER CONTEST – it’s time for the
annual poster contest to support the Respect for Life ministry.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each age division.
This contest is for grades 1st thru 12th and all entries must be in
by January 31, 2015. Poster may be taken to schools or left in
the library area of St. Michael. Use poster board paper only and
no pasted pictures will be accepted only hand drawn. For more
info contact Delores Coomes at 636-1292 or the St. Michael
office.
CYO MISSION TRIP FUNDRAISER – Spaghetti Lunch –
CYO will host a spaghetti lunch fundraiser for a mission
trip to the Mexican border in south Texas on January 18th
from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 3rd floor of Farrell Hall.
The cost is $8/plate and includes spaghetti, bread and
salad. Desserts will be available. Dine in or carry out.
VICKSBURG ULTREYA – will be held Sunday, Feb. 8th at 6
p.m. at St. Paul Church. This will be a pot luck meal. All
Vicksburg area Catholics who have made a Cursillo are
encouraged to attend.
