FMRRCHall of Fame Selection Process
General:
Election to the Fulmont Roadrunners Club Hall of Fame is deemed to be the highest honor that can be
bestowed upon an FMRRCmember. The purpose of this document is to formalize the process for
nominating and electing members to this distinguished body.
Administration:
The process is administered by a Nomination/ Selection Committee chaired by the club president and
including the vice president and secretary. These three, along with the immediate past president of the
club and members of the FMRRCHall of Fame* constitute the Election Committee, whose job it is to
evaluate the candidates. The Hall of Fame members on this committee need not be active in the club.
Process:
Nominations for Hall of Fame membership may be made by any and all active club members. They will
be solicited via the club newsletter and website in the fall of the year at the same time as nominations
for the club’s traditional recognition awards are requested. Nominations for Hall of Fame membership
must be in writing and mailed or email to the chair of the Nominating Committee (the sitting club
president). The nominationsmust summarize the nominee’s qualifications bearing in mind the basic
criteria outlined below.
The Nomination/ Selection Committee will review submissions for Hall of Fame membership and prepare
a ballot containing the names of all who meet the basic criteria. These ballots will be mailed or emailed
to all members of the Election Committee along with copies of the nominating letters, asking members
of that Committee if they feel the candidates are worthy of membership or not, and inviting comments.
At least two weeks will be allowed for a response. Based on these responses, the three-person
Nomination/ Selection Committee will decide if candidates are to be inducted into the Hall of Fame or
not.
Criteria:
The primary criteria for membership in the FMRRCHallof Fame are service to the club and running
community as a whole. A nominee’s individual achievements as a runner also are to be considered.
Nominations are to be limited to living club members, and only active members may be considered
Recognition:
Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized at the club’s annual awards banquet. They will receive a
plaque highlighting their achievements, a jacket distinguishing them as Hall of Fame members, and any
other recognition the Nomination/ Selection Committee deems appropriate.
* Current HOF members include C.W. Austin, Darryl Ferguson, Jim Louison, Jim Moore, Joyce Poulin,
