Junior Industrial Designer Intern Position We are looking for an intern to work at our design studio in Cronulla to give recent and current university students the opportunity to learn in an active and immersive environment. We are looking for an intern with a keen desire to develop and use their skills. About the position: You will learn all about the design process and have real world experience to draw upon gaining knowledge and skills unattainable from university alone. You will work on high profile design projects that are marketed worldwide. You will have projects that you will be able to add to your portfolio enhancing your post-university hiring prospects as well as a reference from us for future employment. The position requires you to work alongside our design team, offering assistance where necessary. You will be working closely with other creative’s in the team as well as professionally liaising with clients, manufacturers and suppliers. You will be assisting in the full design process, including market research, concept development, detail design, prototyping, tooling and manufacture. Please note: this is an unpaid position. About the company: KWA Design Group has been operating since 1981. This award winning design consultancy has served clients including Sony, Philips, Nike, as well as working on our own projects. We specialise in taking projects from brief to full manufacture and cover any product from scooters to keypad shields and hospital- to hi-fi audio- equipment. Requirements: • • • • Skills in 3D CAD software such as Solidworks or Creo. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Some experience with rendering software, e.g. Keyshot, 3D Studio Max or Cinema 4D. Skills in creating 2 dimensional drawings.
