Kasaï Occidental : A Twenty-bed health center inaugurated by Mgr Tshitoko in
Luebo

Luebo, January 5, 2015 (caritasdev.cd): The Center for Health
and Maternity community Bajila Kapumbu, in the Diocese of
Luebo in Kasai Occidental, has a capacity of 20 beds. About 40
km from the seat of the Diocese of Luebo, it is under the
management of the Diocesan Office of Medical Works (BDOM)
Luebo whose Director is Dr. Constantin Muamba Kapuku. This
clinic was inaugurated and blessed Thursday, December 25,
2014, on the occasion of the Mass of the Nativity of the Lord,
Bishop Pierre-Célestin Tshitoko Mamba.
The Ordinary of the place was surrounded during this Eucharistic celebration of Father parish priest of Saint
John and the Coordinator of Caritas-Développement Luebo. In his homily, Bishop Pierre-Célestin Tshitoko
emphasized the sense of love of neighbor, which has resulted in donor funds financing this Health Center
and Maternity.
This work is in response to the needs of the people of this community, the following indicators: a high
maternal mortality rate, coupled with an infant mortality rate crossing.
That is why the Bishop of Luebo asked the people to keep well this heritage is the pride of the community. He
also promised the enlargement of the Health and Maternity Centre with other buildings so that it becomes a
secondary hospital in Luebo Health Zone.
This ceremony was enhanced by the presence Kasai District Deputy Commissioner, the Director of Territory
Luebo, doctors leaders Zones and industry leader. Ovations and dance songs that ensued allowed
community members to live the joy of Emmanuel.
For now, the Health Center and Maternity of Bajila Kapumbu community includes outpatient services, a
laboratory, a room and a bathroom Operations Delivery. It is run by a Nurse owner, assisted by a Deputy
Nursing. There are also two attending nurses, nurse manager of motherhood, a waitress and a sentry.
Note that the Diocese of Luebo covers 8 Health Zones, with 4 general hospitals references, 4 secondary
hospitals, 14 centers and 4 Healths referral health centers. The Diocese of Luebo has 12 doctors working in
the network Diocesan Office of Medical Works.
