Greetings from your high school alma mater, Abington High School !
The Abington High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2014 to publicly recognize and pay
tribute to some of the most talented graduates in Abington High’s history. They may include memorable
athletes such as a 1,000 point scorer from AHS basketball, or a dominating football lineman or running back,
or an outstanding baseball or softball pitcher, or a dynamic coach or team captain, or an entire championship
team. You may have played with such a person, or perhaps you remember watching them from the
bleachers. There are many quality candidates, and Nominating Committee will be striving to ensure that the
honor of being inducted into Abington High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame is celebrated with a memorable
induction ceremony, the presentation of a unique sterling silver lapel pin, and the maintenance of a
permanent Hall of Fame display area.
The Town of Abington voted in October 2014 to approve the construction of a new $96.4 million
middle/high school to be located immediately behind the 1963 High School building (which will thereafter
be razed). As part of our recognition of Abington High’s finest student-athletes, we intend to work with the
School Department to design and install a permanent Hall of Fame “wall” or other suitable display. This
display will be erected in the new school building in a suitable and visible area, so that future visitors to
Abington High School will appreciate the names of those former athletes or coaches whose outstanding
athletic accomplishments were an integral part of AHS sports history. The future of the AHS Athletic Hall
of Fame will be supported and funded entirely by private donations; no public dollars were used to
establish the Hall of Fame. With your contribution, we hope to design an impressive public display and to
expand the Hall of Fame’s membership for years to come . . . Can you help?
We ask you to please consider joining the new “CORNERSTONE CLUB”, a critical part of the future success of
Abington High’s Athletic Hall of Fame. A special “CORNERSTONE CLUB” plaque will be included as part of the
permanent Hall of Fame display. This plaque would be a permanent roster of those alumni who made a
capital gift to help fund and maintain the Hall of Fame, and to help fund future Induction Ceremonies. There
are three gift levels in the CORNERSTONE CLUB:

INVESTOR: $5,000 - $9,999
BENEFACTOR:
$10,000+
Your gift can be acknowledged by permanently inscribing your individual name and year of graduation (John
Smith AHS ’74), your family’s name, your business name, your AHS Class, or in honor of a deceased AHS
student or coach. We hope that you and your family will invest in this unique opportunity.
If you would like to become a member of the CORNERSTONE CLUB, your contribution should be made
payable to “AHS Athletic Hall of Fame, Inc.”, and will remain segregated in our Hall of Fame account (we
operate independently from Abington High School). Please simply fill out and return the attached form with
