SREC leadership, from what I have been told by previous committeemen and women, provides remarkable opportunities for networking and relationship building which are essential to leadership growth and maturity. This is why I am choosing to run for SREC for only 2 terms. I want to bring women along with me, mentoring them to realize and to use their potential leadership talent for an elected office rendering further edification of the Republican Party. Jennifer, with her husband, Don Zimmerman, at the I taught high school Spanish for 14 years during which 2012 National Republican Convention. time I earned my principal-ship. I taught in public schools including an inner city school in Oakland as well as a private Catholic School. At the tender age of 22, I remember being told to hold a sign on a busy street advocating the passing of the school bond; this was my first realization of the unspoken feeling of intolerance for political opinions contrary to the government schools’ political leadership, and the unspoken demand to comply as a condition for career advancement. My father instilled in me a strong work ethic as well as the importance of being a team player and solving community problems. He graduated from the Naval Academy (Annapolis) and became a civil engineer. His work to transform stream culverts into fish ladders, conserving the fishing industry, earned him a Washington State Park in his name. I married a wonderful and intelligent man of integrity in my father’s park on the 4th of July, and came to Texas. IF ELECTED I WILL SERVE ONLY TWO TERMS, so that more women can have the opportunity to serve and to grow the Republican Party.
