Technology Survey Results
Surety Systems developed the 2014 JDE Technology Survey to allow the
JD Edwards community to compare their experience and thoughts to others
in the large JDE Community. This survey reports the results of over 400
JDE client managers. It aims to serve as a benchmark for the JDE
community as a whole. This year’s survey explores topics ranging from
version and function usage to JDE business challenges. The survey’s
results are presented graphically to provide a summary of participant
responses.
Data was collected during a three week period in October 2014. Our
survey was open to all participants through our website,
www.suretysystems.com, and we encouraged participation with
email invitations and through various social media outlets.
Over 400 individuals participated in this survey. All participants
live and work in the United States for companies who currently
utilize the JD Edwards offering.
Observations by Surety Systems
• JD Edwards EnterpriseOne clients have upgraded to recent versions. Almost 80% of
EnterpriseOne participants are currently using versions 9 or 9.1. This contrasts with over 37% of
the JD Edwards World participants who reported they are currently using version A7.3.
• JD Edwards loyalty remains strong. Over 80% of EnterpriseOne participants stated their
company planned to use JDE as their long term ERP solution. The World participants report
strong loyalty to JD Edwards as well, with 39.5% of World participants stating they will remain
with JD Edwards and an additional 30.3% reporting that they will be transitioning to JD Edwards
Enterprise One.
• Workload grows as budgets stay the same. Over 47% of EnterpriseOne participants, and 50%
of World participants stated their company’s JDE Workload will increase in the next 12 months.
Only 18.4% of EnterpriseOne and 20.4% of World participants report that their budgets will grow.
• Staff knowledge of JD Edwards is strong. Both EnterpriseOne and World participants rate
their staff as having sting knowledge with a 3.60 and 3.61 average rating respectively on a 5
point scale.
• LinkedIn is used for business. Over 80% of participants in this year’s survey state they use
LinkedIn for their professional benefit.
