There were no bears visible at the
dump, but I kept my hand on the accelerator and was looking for a way
out. I tossed the bag near all the other
stuff out there and made a hasty retreat. This ATV gets up to 35mph,
which isn’t really advisable on these
dirt roads, but if you need it it’s
there. So on my way back I circled
around the runway and found a little
drive down to the water at the bend
of the road. No one there but just
some beached boats. Got out my pole
and first tried a lure called a ‘Pixie’,
a lure most used. No luck. Well, I
looked in the box and found a
‘Mepps’. Now a smaller version of
this worked when I was in Homer
AK, so I tried that. A few throws and
I got one. Now, I was told that when
fishing for food in these villages, you
don’t need a license. I was ‘told’ this,
but I didn’t know for sure. Well,
wouldn’t you know, as I was reeling
it in, a car passing by sees me and
pulls in…..

PARISH NEWS
SPIRITUAL ADOPTION
Spiritual adoption is the opportunity
for families to pray for an unknown
baby whose mother might be contemplating having an abortion. Each family can choose a boy or girl, and name
this baby. During the next 9 months
the families will pray for their
“adopted” baby daily. In June, 2015,
there will be a Baby Shower at which
time gifts can be donated to the Life
Ministry for distribution to Life Centers here in Orange County. We look
forward to seeing all of you at our
sign-up table this weekend.
EUCHARIST TO THE
HOME BOUND
In Mark 2:1-12 the community brought the paralytic to Jesus. Today we are looking for the face and
hands of Christ to help us bring The Body of Christ
to the home bound. Could you help us for 1 - 2 Sundays a month for about an hour after the 8:30 am,
10:00 am, or 11:45 am morning Mass? Christ is
counting on you! Please contact Liz Bicknell (714)
279-9180.
