offers an Employee Assistance Program
(EAP) and Work-Life Services as an
enhancement to the Group Life and Long
Term Disability offerings. This service
helps companies assist their employees in
alleviating workplace issues that may be
due to mental health, substance abuse,
personal and workplace issues.
Working with Harris, Rothenberg International (HRI), a leading
provider of EAP services, companies are assured easy access
to solutions for any employee or household member
experiencing personal or work-related issues that may impact
quality of life. Successful use of EAP services can lead to
higher employee satisfaction, which may result in increased
productivity and retention.

• Up to three counseling sessions per issue; up to six
sessions available as a program upgrade
• Referral for further treatment, as appropriate
Work-life services
• Consultations, assessments and customized referrals
to service providers, care giving resources and other
services nationwide

• Unlimited telephone consultation, including full
exploration of care giving issues

• Educational materials and guides
• Reduced healthcare costs
• 24-hour service availability via a toll free help line
• Prevention of, or quick response to, workforce crises

Legal and financial services
• Face-to-face or telephonic consultations with experienced
attorneys; initial 30-minute consultation is free
• Access to qualified mediators who can assist with
resolving civil matters, family matters, disputes with
neighbors or co-workers, and other emotionally
charged issues
• Consultation with financial professionals; one initial
30-minute telephone consultation available per each
separate financial matter at no cost
• Identity theft counseling with a highly trained Fraud
Resolution Specialist™ who will assist with restoring
identity and good credit following an identity
theft incident
• Online access to an array of legal forms, including wills,
living wills, powers of attorney, contracts and many more
Support for managers
Company management has access to a full array of support
services designed to assist them in utilizing the EAP services.
HRI provides unlimited access to a member website, which
also includes articles, quizzes and tip sheets, online health
and wellness services and other manager tools. Employee
and management orientations create program awareness and
help educate both managers and employees about the
services available. Open-enrollment meetings and health fairs
can be arranged to increase program visibility or address
specific employee topics.
Coaching is available for managers or human resources staff
who need to address an employee issue, such as chronic
absenteeism, tardiness, anger management, a positive drug
screen, etc. Managers can also refer employees to EAP
services for counseling, as part of a job performance review.
Program upgrades available
In some instances, additional services or specialized
programs may be desired. Enhanced services can include:

• Onsite critical incident response services (CIRs)
• Return to work evaluations
Offered with Zurich’s employee benefits programs
EAP services can help both employers and employees deal
with stressful work situations. EAP and Work-Life Services can
help manage difficult employee situations, provide risk
mitigation and address overall employee job satisfaction.
Effective April 2014, Zurich’s EAP program will be offered
to all new accounts. Existing groups will be offered the
EAP program at renewal.
By adding an EAP program as an enhancement to the
Zurich Group Life and Long Term Disability offering, our
