Matt Hammond
Lisa Martin

Matt joined Zurich as a Project Manager from Legal & General in 2010, having spent the previous
5 years managing a number of IT projects within the organisation.
Lisa joined Zurich in May 2001, initially as a PA to the Operations Director who went onto set up the
first Offshoring operation for Zurich in Bangalore in 2002. Subsequent roles were PA to the Head of
Internal Consulting and BC&IT Co-ordinator, before moving to join the newly formed Central PMO
Team in Operations in 2011. Lisa has recently moved into BC&IT performing a PMO support function.
After managing projects for 18 months within Zurich, Matt transitioned into the PMO arena, taking
responsibility for defining and establishing the function for the PL Strategy programme. The Personal
Lines PMO function has continued to evolve and now supports the PL Portfolio, the PL Strategy and
the PL Transformation activities.
Matt plays a lead role in the Project Delivery Community of Practice, ensuring representation of PMO
views and discipline. He has enjoyed the opportunities presented by this position, as this has not only
provided him with wider breadth of knowledge across BC&IT, but has also enabled collaboration
with a cross-section of the project delivery community.
Her role covers the UK Local Administration for Planview and resolving all Planview queries, project
reporting, managing the Front Door Process to ensure new projects are approved and set up on
Planview. She also assists with resource management and administrating the contractor renewals
process for BC&IT.
Whilst working at Zurich, Lisa has made some lifelong friends over the last 13 years and has enjoyed
working in a variety of roles in different parts of the business.
Heidi Dunn
Dan Carter
Project Manager, Functional Delivery, UKGI Business Change and IT

Heidi joined Zurich in November 2011 as a Project Manager in Zurich Municipal, based in Farnborough.
She has now moved on to work as a Project Manager and Underwriting Portfolio Manager in
Functional Delivery, based in Fareham.
Dan joined Zurich in March 2014 and is responsible for the Small Change Portfolio with
Commercial Broker.
Heidi is currently managing a large programme of work which is putting in place the required
infrastructure and rolling out a new accumulation tool to all Underwriters in all MFUs in the UKGI,
(including Claims Handlers and Risk Engineers in Commercial Broker, Zurich Municipal, SME, GCUK
and Personal Lines).
Heidi enjoys working at Zurich as it is a large global company with many prospects in terms of
development and progression. She also enjoys working in the BC&IT function as there is lots of
opportunity to meet many people across all the MFUs when engaged in the different projects.
Prior to joining Zurich Dan has spent his career to date working as an IT Project Manager in fast
paced IT environments for global brands such as B&Q, Marks & Spencer and Motorola. Dan has also
worked on projects within the Emergency Services for both South Central Ambulance Service and
Hampshire Constabulary, as well as healthcare IT projects for NHS Trusts. The IT related projects that
he has managed have been diverse in nature including Web and ecommerce, business applications,
hardware refresh, telephone/call centre, web analytics implementation and data security.
Dan enjoys working in an exciting and challenging IT environment, for one of the world leading
insure providers.
Danny Short
Sarah Morrell
Project Test & Quality Manager, UKGI Business Change and IT
Portfolio & Release Manager, Zurich Municipal, UKGI Business Change and IT
Danny joined Zurich UKGI 6 years ago as the Test and Quality Assurance Manager. For the last 3
years he has been working on Zurich’s two largest transformation programmes, bringing Guidewire
and Duck Creek applications into Zurich, instilling quality across the project lifecycle and directing
the test strategies with our selected test partners.
Sarah recently joined Zurich in June 2014 as portfolio manager for Zurich Municipal having previously
worked for Aviva where she held various roles in IT and Change over a number of years.
Danny also leads the Quality Management Community of Practice and has been involved in testing
for over 20 years, having worked for the AA and Zurich Life.
Like most, Danny feels that Zurich is a global company, and as such, the opportunities available are
pretty limitless. Zurich are also very good at supporting personal development and helping staff
push for recognised qualifications.
After working for the same company for a long time within Financial Services industry, Sarah was
looking for an opportunity to be part of an organisation which wanted to develop their people
and encouraged a collaborative working culture. In her short time at Zurich, Sarah has been really
impressed with Zurich and how much it actually stands by the company values communicated to
her at interview.
Sarah has found the people at Zurich really friendly and up beat – a real breath of fresh air! From day
one she was welcomed to and attended the Project Delivery Community of Practice, volunteered to
set up lunch and learns on the Zurich governance framework for new starters, and become treasurer
for the Zurich Care volunteering day in Farnborough. Sarah feels that it is definitely the best decision
she made when she accepted a role at Zurich, as there is so much opportunity in terms of career
development and progression. Sarah finds Zurich an extremely friendly and driven place to work,
where the commitment and investment in people is second to none.
