We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your recovery so we would like you to complete your treatment at home and return to the hospital for a followup appointment. This is called ‘Ambulatory Care’, and this leaflet will give you more information and answer any questions you might have. What are the benefits of recovering at home? - Rest and recover with family and friends in the privacy of your own home. Able to enjoy home comforts. Lower risk of acquiring a hospital infection. Please check the following before you leave: You have received a discharge letter; a copy will be sent to your GP. You have received your medications – if you are unsure about any of your medications please check with the ward pharmacist. Do you have any follow-up? A ‘Rapid Response Team’, or other specialty healthcare workers, may see you while you are at home. Whether you need to have further tests or scans before your followup appointment. You can ask a member of staff about this.
