John What do you think of ERO’s parent booklets?
The Education Review Office (ERO) publishes a series of five booklets for parents and
caregivers.
They want to find out how useful the information is to parents, how the booklets can be
improved, and if parents would prefer to receive the information in a different way.
They’re starting with a survey of How is my child doing? To take part in the survey go to
www.ero.govt.nz – Featured Publications. The survey runs until the end of September and
only takes a few minutes to complete.

We were luck to have Pita Pit come out to our school for a promotional event. Thanks
to those who took part and a huge thanks to Catherine for collating orders. This is a
yummy, healthy lunch alternative for Friday.
Friday Winter Sport
Thank you for all your support with our winter sport. We have had huge success’s with
st
Senior Netball, Senior Hockey and Junior Football coming 1 ; Junior Hockey, Junior
nd
Netball, Senior B Netball 2 . All teams played at our Zone competition and 3 teams
made Canterbury Tournament. Congratulations to all. Due to weather and field
allocations, we often travelled around Christchurch to play and therefore required
more transport than originally forecast. The SNBS Sport budget will pay for the
shortfall in travel costs, hence there will be no refund. Thanks again for your support
and we look forward to your support next year.
The whole school has been working very
hard to practice a song which we will sing as
a tribute to young people coping with cancer.
Sports Badges
Our Senior Hockey, Senior Rugby, and Junior Hockey teams represented us, at the
Canterbury Tournament and have been presented their sports badges this week.
The performance taks place at 2.30pm on
th
Monday 8 September at school.
Club Sport
Congratulations to everyone who played their final game last weekend. I’ve heard
some impressive results. Special mention to the following students:
Cassius Kitchen – Selected for the Canterbury U12 Football Team
Quinn Andis and Ren Somerville– Selected for the U11 Canterbury Rugby Team.
Quinn also received Player of the Year from his club.
Summer season is coming up so watch out for club registrations. If you are unsure
how or who to get in contact with for any sport, email me and I’ll try to put you on to
the correct person. [email protected]
Afterwards, there will be a “Mystery Can
Sale” and “Can Knock Down”.
We would love to have you join us. Everyone
is welcome.
Thank you
