There are over 67,000 Muslims living in Ottawa, representing more than 40 distinct cultural backgrounds. The
Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) will celebrate this diversity by holding three annual multicultural events:

The Eid Festivals provide Muslim Communities across the country an opportunity to celebrate their two major holidays: Eid Al Fitr
and Eid Al Adha. The Festivals are full day events starting with a large congregational prayer, followed by a day of family fun,
entertainment, world class cuisine, bazaar and an exciting program. MAC would like to invite you to support one or both of these
grand celebrations that have become a fabric of Canada's heritage and multicultural mosaic.
In addition, on Saturday, August 2nd 2014, the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) will celebrate its largest annual multicultural
event, the 14th annual Muslim Summer Festival (Web Site: www.MuslimSummerFestival.com). MAC would be delighted to
have you provide support this unique and amazing event as one of a select number of sponsors.
We make every effort to maximize exposure for our sponsors so that you may take advantage of one or more of these unbelievable
opportunities to reach out to our diverse community. (See tables 2-4 on pages 4-6 for our sponsorship packages and pricing).

1. What is MAC?
The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is a national, grassroots Muslim Canadian organization. MAC currently operates in
11 Canadian cities, with a vision to establish an Islamic presence in Canada that is balanced, constructive and integrated,
though distinct, within the social fabric and culture of Canada.
2. What is Eid Festival?
Eid is the most important religious celebration for Muslims and therefore establishing a united gathering that represents such
a multicultural community directly strengthens our Canadian heritage. At the Eid festival, enjoy a wonderful sermon by wellrespected Imams and meet and greet with dignitaries and guests who come to join in celebrations with our community. A
variety of cuisines are served, Eid sweets, as well as snacks and refreshments for everyone. Dress your children in their new
Eid clothing and bring them out to celebrate Eid with thousands of other Muslim children in our wonderful carnival with rides
and activities for all ages. Finally, while your children are having a great time you can walk through our many rows of vendors
in our traditional 'Sowk' or Market. Catch a show or two with your children who will enjoy spectacular and entertaining
performance never seen before.
3. What is the Muslim Summer Festival?
The Muslim Summer Festival (MSF) is one of the many projects that MAC Ottawa Chapter started and it is an annual festival
that aims at bringing Canadians together to celebrate Islamic contribution and multiculturalism to our beloved country,
Canada. It attracts over 15,000 visitors, from all ages and cultural and religious backgrounds.
4. What are the attractions in MSF?
Many attractions can be found at the festival, amongst which are the country exhibitions of approximately 20 countries from
around the world. Also, a bazaar section where festival attendees can find all types of cultural items for sale, a food court with
delicious variety of food from around the world, a large games section for the kids featuring several large playing structures,
and different fun activities for the whole family throughout the day; from petting zoo, animal shows, face painting, cultural
performances, puppet show and train rides for the young, to tug-of-war and potato competitions, soccer and jousting
tournaments, and even a motorcycle show.
