Violin Concert at Brethren Village
Ben Detrick, violinist from Vienna, Austria will appear in concert on
Sunday afternoon, August 17 at 3:00 pm in the Wolfe Auditorium at
Brethren Village. Mr. Detrick will play some classical, folk songs and
hymns. Ben, the grandson of Betty Bomberger and the late Harold
Bomberger, has given concerts in China, Europe and the US. and
currently studies in Vienna. An offering for cost sharing will be received. The public is invited to attend.
The church nursery (which is available for children up to age 4) is located back the main hallway, past the restrooms, on the left. Please
feel free to entrust your children to us for this hour.
Young Adults
Are you a recent High School graduate who wants to grow in your faith?
Join Ryan and Matt in the Young Adult Room at 10:20 on a Sunday morning for a time of hanging out and talking about a video or book series.
Swim-n-Splash
Swim-n-Splash is just around the corner! Bring your suits for a swimming’ good time! Join us at Todd & Mandi Stoltzfus’s—419 Ridgeview
Avenue, Elizabethtown—on Sunday August 10th at 4:00pm. Bring a side
dish or dessert to share for supper. Main dish, drinks & table settings
will be provided. Swim-n-Splash is for families with kids ages 5th grade
and younger. Dive right in and join us!
Church Picnic
Join us at 5:30pm on Saturday August 23rd for BBQ chicken and potatoes
by Peters BBQ. Please bring hot or cold side or dessert to share. Bring
your lawn games, squirt guns, and whatever else is fun to share! Please

Volunteers are needed to help with the Farm Show Beef on Sept.
15-17, from 2:30pm until finished. We need strong people to help
with dishes and to prepare roasts for cooking and people to help

Ladies Bible Study
Come join us on Monday nights for fellowship, prayer and time in
God’s word. All are welcome for our informal study of topics useful
in daily living. We will be meeting at 7:00pm on August 18, September
8 & 22, October 13 & 27, November 10 & 24 and December 8.
New Church Secretary/Office Manager
Please welcome Carol Keller as our new Church Secretary/Office
Manager! Originally from Indian Creek Church of the Brethren (in
Harleysville), Carol moved to the area and has been attending East
Fairview for almost a year. With prior administrative and secretarial
experience, Carol is already in the process of acclimating to her new
responsibilities. We welcome Carol with excitement and a desire to
support her as she enters this new area of ministry!
We would like to again thank Jen Statler for serving as our Church
Secretary/Office Manager for the past several weeks and wish her well
as she joins Excentia’s S. June Smith Center, pursing her passion to
minister to children.
Effective immediately, the Church Office hours are
9am – 1pm, Monday through Friday

Nigerian Church Update
Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren is hosting a meeting on August
17th at 3:00pm, with Beatrice Dangombe. Beatrice is the daughter
of Musa and Sarah Mumbula, leaders in EYN (Church of the Brethren
in Nigeria), who will provide an update on the current situation of
Christians in Nigeria that have been experiencing violence. Beatrice
was educated in the US, is now married to Pelte Dangombe and
works in York, PA.
