Mary’s response to all this was only three words long...may it be.
“May it be “ is really a three word statement of faith…

David
“Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I
took you from the pasture and from following the flock to be ruler over
my people Israel. I have been with you where you have gone, and I
have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your
name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth. Your
house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne
will be established forever.’”
2 Samuel 7:8-9, 16

Would you like get to out of debt and experience some financial peace?
We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that
plan! It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class
discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be.
FPU begins at FBCK on Sunday, January 11th, 5:00—6:30. This 9-week class
will give you the tools you need to change your financial future!
On Sunday, January 4, we will offer the
“Welcome to FBC Class” at 9:45am. This class
meets in the parlor for four consecutive weeks.
It is open to new members of our church,
visitors and those who may be considering
membership. We will learn more about our
church’s history, life and ministries.

COMING IN JANUARY!
In the Bleak Midwinter: Finding Strength for the Storm
No matter the season of life in which we find ourselves, heartaches and circumstances that exhaust our coping skills, threaten our well-being, and challenge our
faith can settle upon us like icy winter storms. These chilling times of trial are invitations to learn from each other and lean on God for strength and wisdom. As we
work and worship together in the community of faith known as First Baptist, Kannapolis, and as our paths cross with those outside our faith community, we are witnesses to the brokenness, pain and loss that are part and parcel of the human condition. While we are not able – or called - to fix one another, we are called to participate in each other’s healing. We can find strength in, and our way through, the
storms of life as we navigate them together.
For five Sunday evenings 5:00-6:30pm:
January 11th-”Setting and Living out New Year’s goals-Resolution Year Long”
January 18th-”I Ran Into a Door-Domestic Violence in our Community”
January 25th-”The Long Goodbye-Marriage
Through Aging, Illness & Death”
February 8th-”Bullies, Victims and Bystanders”
February 15th-”The Emotional Work of the
Sandwich Generation”
Mark your calendar and find strength for
the storm—the one you’re going through or
the one you’re helping someone else through!
Our Christmas Eve service is this Wednesday at 6:00pm. Bring along your friends and
family who may be visiting from out of town.

During this Advent season we are recording our sightings of Christ at work in
our lives and the lives of others around us. We’re looking for places and
situations where Christ is at work. Be sure to stop by the box in the hallway
during the week and in the sanctuary on Sundays where you can record and
share your Advent sightings. Let’s fill the box with places where we see Christ
breaking into lives during the Christmas season.
