In the Bleak Midwinter: Finding Strength for the Storm No matter the season of life in which we find ourselves, heartaches and circumstances that exhaust our coping skills, threaten our well-being, and challenge our faith can settle upon us like icy winter storms. These chilling times of trial are invitations to learn from each other and lean on God for strength and wisdom. As we work and worship together in the community of faith known as First Baptist, Kannapolis, and as our paths cross with those outside our faith community, we are witnesses to the brokenness, pain and loss that are part and parcel of the human condition. While we are not able – or called - to fix one another, we are called to participate in each other’s healing. We can find strength in, and our way through, the storms of life as we navigate them together. For five Sunday evenings 5:00-6:30pm: January 11th-”Setting and Living out New Year’s goals-Resolution Year Long” January 18th-”I Ran Into a Door-Domestic Violence in our Community” January 25th-”The Long Goodbye-Marriage Through Aging, Illness & Death” February 8th-”Bullies, Victims and Bystanders” February 15th-”The Emotional Work of the Sandwich Generation” Mark your calendar and find strength for the storm—the one you’re going through or the one you’re helping someone else through!
